Michael woke up and his whole body ached, his arms felt like they weighted a ton and his head was throbbing. Surprisingly he was on a bed, the mattress wasn't the best but he wasn't complaining, he hadn't slept on a bed in months.

His eyes studied the room he was in, the mattress was on the ground and there was a small sofa on the corner. A girl was sitting on it, her hands playing with a rubik cube, Michael recognized her as the girl with the shaved head that found him in the forest, Halsey.

He tried moving his arm but a hiss made its way through his lips. Halsey raised her head quickly and made her way towards the bed. "Hey, Michael, isn't it?" The boy nodded and licked his dry lips. "Here, have some water." She helped Michael sit up and handed him a cup of water.

Michael took small sips of the water and avoided looking in the girl's eyes. "You were in pretty rough shape, Michael. You're probably sore because we had to stitch up your open wounds, you also had to get some blood, we checked for you blood type and everyone 'round here with the same donated." Halsey smiled and took the now empty cup from his hands. "You already loved by everyone and all you had to do was look dead."

A small smile crept its way onto Michael's lips. "Where am I?" His throat hurt when he talked and his voice sounded like a whale's cry.

"Well, that's a question for Calum to answer. All I can tell you is we found you and made you all better, you've been asleep for almost a day because of the strong anesthesia you were given. I've been here keeping watch on you." Halsey gave the sick boy a smile and Michael stopped finding her so intimidating. "And tryin' to solve a rubik's cube but that shit's tough."

The room was small, almost as if it wasn't made to be a bedroom, there was only one small window close to the ceiling. "I should call Calum in, he commanded me to call him as soon as you wake up and we've been chatting for a bit." Michael frowned hearing those dreaded words, he feared Calum. "Don't look so scared, boo. He's not half as intimidating as he looks, between us, he's a sweetheart, he only fakes the whole badass act, I promise." Halsey winked and walked out of the small room leaving Michael alone.

His hand ran through his face and through his hair in a stupid attempt of getting it to look decent. His body was clean, no blood sticking to his skin reminding him of the horrendous event that had gotten him in this situation. He had brand new clothes as well, a white t-shirt clung to his skin making his tiny muscles become more noticeable, ever since the apocalypse started he trained with Luiz to get in shape, and when Luiz passed away Michael kept training by himself.

The door opened and Michael avoided to look, he heard heavy steps and the sofa was dragged a bit closer to the bed, not that it was far before because the room was tiny.

"Where did you from?" Calum asked him coldly, not asking about his condition or even greeting him

"U-Uh, a barn, couple miles away, not sure which direction, I get lost easily." The younger boy mumbled and looked down at his fingers.

Michael looked at Calum and found the other boy watching him closely. "How many are there in your group?" The same cold voice echoed through the room, Michael wondered if Calum have talked with emotion.

"None." Michael's voice could barely be heard, as he said that word out loud his heart hurt in his chest. He had no one.

"What?" The emotionless voice finally showed a tiny little bit of emotion, confusion.

"I have no one, I don't have a group." This time, Michael spoke louder this time, the tears were already burning in his eyes.

"For how long have you been alone?"
