I passed so many different shops as I walked. One cute little shop stood out the most and caught my attention. I just had to go inside. It was a sweet shop-how could I pass that up?
I opened the double doors and the bell above the doors made a loud ding noise signalling that a new customer had entered the store. The aroma of sweet cakes and honey filled my nose and it was complete bliss.
"Mmmm" I sniffed the air and closed my eyes just taking in the scents.
"Pisces? Is that you?" I heard the familiar voice speak. It was Cancer. Cancer worked here? Amazing! Maybe I could have a discount now! Just kidding. Or not...
"Oh hello Cancer!" I called out happily. She walked around from behind the counter and wiped her gloved hands on her flour covered apron.
"I see you wondered off into the best shop in town!" She giggled. I giggled with her and nodded.
"I guess I did." I said.
"Well let me give you some tips. The banana nut bread is really amazing here! I would suggest you get that." She whispered and then chuckled.
"Is that even a tip?" I questioned her. She shrugged her shoulders.
"Maybe. I'm giving you a tip on what to buy, so yes." She replied. She had a point there.
"Okay! Thanks. Banana nut bread it is then." I smiled. She grinned and nodded before heading behind the counter to serve me. I reached into my dress pocket and pulled out a few bills to pay with.
"Here you go. Nice and warm. It's freshly made. By me matter of fact." She said proudly. I grabbed it with one hand and payed what I had assumed was the price. She counted the money and placed some in the register before giving me my change back. I told her she could keep the change.
"Want to sit with me and talk?" I asked her. She looked around nervously.
"It's not really my break time but I guess a few minutes wouldn't hurt." She smiled. I smiled back and we both headed towards a booth and sat opposite from each other.
I bit into the bread and let the sweet warmth fill my mouth. My taste buds were loving it.
"This is so good, Cancer!" I moaned as I bit some more into it. She chuckled.
"Eat slower or you'll choke."
"No way. This is too good!" I laughed. She laughed with me before her face turned serious.
"I was hoping that we could talk." She said slowly. I stopped eating and looked at her nervously. I hated when people said that. I immediately started trying to remember all of the bad things I could have possibly done but I couldn't think of anything. Well except for hitting Scorpio on the head.
Yikes.
"About?" I asked nervously.
"About Scorpio." She replied. I dreaded hearing that name come out of her mouth. But I knew I couldn't run forever.
