Brain Dead- The Dying Of The Light

Chapter 6: YMCA

Ev sat in the back of the truck with Bob. They had left the firehouse about an hour ago. They all decided to go to the YMCA. Adam was on the ATV now. They stopped once for some lunch then continued on. They arrived in front of the YMCA about ten minutes later. Jakob and Adam went to scout it out. Jakob went inside while Adam scanned the outside of the building. Jakob later returned with his report.
"A couple sickos inside, but I found a room that was clear" he said
Adam nodded. They started moving supplies inside to the safe room. The room was actually the lobby for the health department in the Y. Once everything was inside Adam went and hide the truck in the back then returned. They made some makeshift beds and everyone got some rest. The next morning while Ev and Bob were recovering Adam and Jakob had been looking for supplies throughout the Y. Adam had found some guns that looked like they were left behind. Jakob also found evidence that there was people living here before them. He thought that based on the evidence that the group left in quite a hurry.
"Hm..." murmured Jakob
Adam later left and went to a store to look for gas or any other supplies really. He returned with a couple more bullets, some food and water. Gen tended to the two wounded. Ev had tried multiple times to get up but kept getting put down. Bob just slept the entire time. The next day in the morning Jakob had started to build some walls around the Y with some cars. Adam had started setting up some walls in the hall outside of the safety room. Adam used couches, cabinets and beds. Adam ended up finding some backpacks in another room, this confused him. Ev and Bob were able to get up and walk around. Ev knew what he needed to do. He went out and found a bicycle then started riding back to will's house. Jakob nor Adam saw Ev leave the Y. Ev rode into the neighborhood and up to will's house. A couple of sickos wandered around the house. He saw a couple of them feasting on the bodies of the parents. He got off the bike and went down to the backyard. He saw the broken window and saw some tall grass knocked over from what looked like someone stepping on them. He then started following the tracks into a large field. Adam and Jakob for the past hour had set up an emergency room in case the safety room was overrun. The tracks were getting less and less visible as Ev went. He eventually found them heading towards the high school. He continued following the tracks on bike down the road. He went to the main entrance to the high school. It was busted up and glass was everywhere. He sighed and crawled in through the glass then brought his bike on through. He set it down by the door then unsheathed his kitchen knives. He walked into the long hallway that went to the end of the building. He saw a sicko walk out of a classroom. He dispatched it quickly but then gripped his chest in pain. He continued on through the school. The school wasn't to badly destroyed but it had some marks. He checked the rooms but didn't find anything useful. He eventually went through all the rooms, had killed 4 more sickos and now was heading upstairs. He looked out the window and giggled at what he saw. He saw that the Y was just across the street from the high school. He walked down the hall until he heard some noises in a classroom. He peeked into the room but was blocked by a bunch of desks in the way. He pushed them aside with a loud crash. He then climbed over the wreckage and looked for whatever was inside making the noise. What he saw was a teacher, Morgan and Maddie hiding in the corner.
