Chapter 5: Night in the Firehouse

To Ev everything was a blur, he heard ringing in his ears and then darkness.
"Oh god what happened" said Jakob
"Will shot him" said Adam
"He's out cold" said Bob
Bob and Adam tried their hardest to save him. Bob wasn't going to loose anymore people.
"I've slowed the bleeding " said Adam
"I think the shot went clean through"
"Jakob get some bandages " said Bob
Jakob ran off to the truck and grabbed some bandages. He then ran back into the house and up the stairs. Adam and Bob had stopped the bleeding and started wrapping up the wound. Ev moved
"Don't touch...me...I'm fine..." he slurred
"He's awake " said Bob
Ev tried to sit up but was kept down by Bob
"I'm fine..." slurred Ev
"Lay down " said Bob
"No I'm...fine..." he slurred
Jakob had started searching the house for anything valuable. He found tons of supplies and started packing them into the truck. Bob and Adam finished fixing up Ev. Gen was out watching the truck. Ev sat up with gritted teeth, it hurt so much.
"Why did you come here " asked Adam
"I was looking for Maddie..." replied Ev
"Oh..."
Ev closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"Thanks..."
Jakob found a bit more food. He then went into the basement. In a room down there was some chains and whips. He was disgusted and when he continued on further into the basement he saw a chair with handcuffs on the side in the center of the room. He felt a breeze then looked up and saw a broken window. Next to the glass on the floor was a hammer. He went back upstairs and told the others about what he had found.
"Let's get out of here" said Jakob
Bob went out first then Jakob then Adam helping out Ev. Bob was about to get into the truck when he heard a chink. He turned and saw will's dad holding a gun at him.
"Where's willy" he said
Bob lifted his arms up. Will's mom had Gen at gun point across the street. Adam dropped Ev and raised his rifle. Ev landed with a hmf. Jakob raised up his hands.
"Where is will" asked will's mom
"He's inside " said Jakob calmly
Ev had rolled underneath the truck and was crawling towards the dad.
"Go get him" said the dad
Jakob frowned
"Um..." Jakob murmured
Ev saw some sickos coming down this way, he had a plan. He pulled out his firecrackers and lit them then threw them behind the parents. The two parents turned and looked at the firecrackers. Adam fired three shots, two hit the mom in the head. Gen ran behind a car. The dad shot around and fired at Bob. The shot hit Bob in the chest. Jakob ran up and hit the dad in the head with his bat. Ev had crawled out and stabbed the stunned dad laying on the street with his kitchen knife. Bob had fallen onto the street and was gasping for air. Adam ran over and started to help Bob. Ev tried to help but couldn't really help. Bob had been hit in the same place Ev had been hit. Jakob and Gen disposed of the nearby sickos. After ten minutes Adam said Bob was going to be okay. They all loaded up into the truck with Gen on the ATV.
"Where to"? Asked Jakob "We need a safe place to rest up"
"I know a place " said Adam
Adam drove off, followed by Gen. Will's house was left to be claimed by the sickos. They arrived at the firehouse about 20 minutes later. They pulled inside and then closed the door. The sun had set. Jakob cleared out two sickos inside. While he was doing this he found a fire axe and took that up as his new main weapon. Ev and Bob slept inside the car. Adam and Gen slept on the couch and Jakob slept in the back of the car. Today had been a tough day for the crew. Tomorrow they needed to find a place to stay for a while.
