*Demi's POV*

She opened the door for me and I walked in the classroom. I took the seat closest to her desk. She was the sweetest person I've ever met. She is the only person that seems to care for me. And she is beautiful. Am I falling for my teacher? I hope not. That would be a disaster.

I watched as Ms. Gomez walked and sat at her desk. She looked at the class and back at me. "So, Demi, would you like to tell the class a little about yourself?" She asked. I hesitated for a moment, then shrugged and slowly walked up to the front of the class. "Um- hi" I awkwardly waved. "My name is Demi, I just moved here from Dallas-" "Fat" I was interrupted by someone from the back of the class. Tears filled my eyes. "Ugly" I heard another person say. "Worthless" "Kill yourself" More comments came and tears streamed down my face. "ENOUGH" I heard Ms. Gomez yell. "Have you no respect? What is wrong with you people? I want every single person in here to apologize to Demi, she doesn't deserve all of that. She is beautiful, you guys need to see that." She continued. I looked at her, redness forming on my cheeks. I gave her a weak smile, in which she returned. The class started mumbling sorry, but there was one kid in the back who stayed quiet. "Robert," Ms. Gomez glared at the student. "Apologize to Demi." He looked from me to Ms. Gomez. "No." He stated. "She deserves all of that. She is fat, ugly, worthless." He looked at me. "Why don't you just leave and overdose or something?"

My head started to spin. I became dizzy and tried to make my way out of the classroom. I reached the hallway and started to run. I ran and ran. But suddenly, I couldn't run anymore. Everything came crashing down on me. Darkness came over me, and I was gone.

*Ms. Gomez's POV*

Comments were thrown at Demi. Is this why she looked so broken earlier? I told the class to apologize, and Robert decided not to. He told Demi to kill herself, and she broke down and ran out of the room. I ran after her. I called out her name, but she didn't respond. She fell in the middle of the hallway. "DEMI" "DEMI" "DEMI" She didn't answer. I ran as fast as I could and kneeled down to her. I shook her. Tears came pouring out of my eyes. "Demi, please wake up." I continued shaking her until I realized I had to do something. I took out my cell phone and called the cops. "911, whats your emergency?" I tried talking through my sobs, "M-My student. S-Some of her c-classmates w-w-were h-harassing her a-and s-s-she ran o-out of the c-class. S-she fell in the h-h-hallway. S-shes not w-w-w-waking u-up. P-please b-bring an a-ambulence s-soon." "An ambulence is on its way." She hung up. I lifted Demi into my arms. I looked at her face, the tears that were rolling down. She was so hurt. So fragile. Nobody cared for her. I walked with her in my arms to the front of the school. When the ambulence came, I sat in the back with her, holding her hand.

I sat in her hospital room, awaiting for her to open her eyes.

*Demi's POV*

I didn't open my eyes yet, but I heard a beautiful voice.

Oh, why you look so sad?
Tears are in your eyes
Come and talk to me now

Don't be ashamed to cry
Let me see you through
'cause I've seen the dark side too

When the night falls on you
You don't know what to do
Nothing you confess
Could make me love you less

I'll stand by you
I'll stand by you
Won't let nobody hurt you
I'll stand by you

So if you're mad, get mad
Don't hold it all inside
Come on and talk to me now

Hey, what you got to hide?
I get angry too
Well I'm a lot like you

When you're standing at the crossroads
Don't know which path to choose
Let me come along
'cause even if you're wrong

I'll stand by you
I'll stand by you
Won't let nobody hurt you
I'll stand by you
Take me in into your darkest hour
And I'll never desert you
I'll stand by you

And when...
When the night falls on you, baby
You're feeling all alone
You won't be on your own

I'll stand by you
Won't let nobody hurt you

I'll stand by you
Take me in, into your darkest hour
And I'll never desert you
I'll stand by you
I'll stand by you
Won't let nobody hurt you
I'll stand by you
and I'll never desert you
I'll stand by you
I'll stand by you
Won't let nobody hurt you
I'll stand by you

I finally opened my eyes, without knowing tears escaped. I looked for the source of the voice. When I found it, I gasped. "M-Ms. Gomez?" I stuttered. "Demi, you woke up! Thank god. I was so worried" She began to ramble and pace around the room. She seemed to drift off. "Ms. Gomez, you were worried about me?" I asked. She snapped back into reality and walked towards me. She sat at the edge of my bed and grabbed my hand. Sparks went off by her touch. I quickly pulled my hand away, as she did, also. She smiled weakly and said, "Yes, Demi, I was very worried." She blushed. "Um, did you hear me singing?" She asked quietly. "Um, y-y-yea." I said. Her face went completely red as she looked down. "You have a beautiful voice, Ms. Gomez. It really made me feel a lot better. Thank you. And thank you for caring about me." I said. She looked up, eyes gleaming. "No worries, Demi." She smiled. I returned the smile. "U-um, we should call your parents to pick you up. Maybe you would want to take off school for the rest of the day. And don't worry, I'll cover for you. I won't tell anybody what happened, if you wish. But don't think that you're off the hook with me. I want to know. I need to know what is going on. I want to be here for you, ok?" She said. I slowly nodded. "Spend lunch with me from now on, ok? I don't want you to get any more hurt." She continued. I nodded once again, as she walked out of the room to call my parents. A short while later, my parents walked in and took me in their arms. "Thank god, I was so worried about you, Demi" My mom said and pulled away. "Its ok, Ms. Gomez saved me." I smiled and blushed. I saw Ms. Gomez blush in the doorway. My dad walked to her and began to talk with her. "Thank you for taking care of her for us, it means a lot." He smiled at her. He looked at me and said, "C'mon kiddo, lets head back home."

"Ok dad." I slowly got up out of bed and walked to my dad. "Goodbye, Miss. Thanks again. See you tomorrow." I smiled and she said, "No problem, Demi. Bye, have a nice day." She grinned. I walked away to the parking lot with my parents. When I sat in the car, I was quiet. After a couple minutes of driving, my mom broke the silence, "Your teacher seems really nice." I looked out of the window. "Yea..." I drifted off, thinking of my music teacher, and her beautiful eyes that took my breath away.
