*Demi's POV*
I pulled into an open parking spot close to the school. I got out of the car and slung my bookbag over my shoulder. I checked to make sure I had my bracelets on, covering my scars. I quickly entered the school and tried to avoid the other students. A group of girls noticed me and walked up to me. "Are you new here?" One of the girls, who seemed to be the leader, asked me. "I-um... yeah" I stuttered, intimidated by them. "What's your name?" She asked. "D-Demi" I spit out. She laughed and looked at her friends. "You know what to do." She told them. I knew what was going to happen. Before I had the chance to run away, one of the girls came up and punched me in the stomach and I fell to the ground, curled up in a fetal position. The rest of the girls came up and started to kick me. By now a whole group surrounded us, and every chance I had I tried to escape. Once I was able to stand up, but soon fell down due to the pain. Everyone laughed. The bell rang, and all of the students quickly ran to their first class, leaving me alone, on the floor, in tears.
*Ms. Gomez's POV*
I had my seniors for my first period. I was supposed to be having a new student today. Apparently her name is Demetria Lovato. I wonder what she was like. My students started filing in. Once they were all here, I began to take attendance. "Jackson Avile, Dylan Rodriguez...." I finally got to the new girl's name. "Demetria Lovato" I looked around, trying to spot a hand. Nothing. "Demetria Lovato?" Not a word. Who would be absent on the first day of school? At that moment, the principle walked in. "Ms. Gomez, may I have a word with you?" He asked. I nodded and walked out of the room, closing the door behind me. I noticed a girl standing behind the principle. She looked so hurt, so fragile. But she was hiding her face, like she was in pain.
"So sir, who, might I ask, is this young lady?" I asked him. He looked at the girl behind him and back at me, "This young lady happens to be your new student, Demetria Lovato." She finally had the courage to look up. When she did, my mouth dropped open and butterflies went off in my stomach. She was beautiful. She had blue hair, big brown eyes, sexy curves, and- "Miss Gomez?" the principle snapped me out of my trance. Demetria looked down at the floor, blushing furiously. Shit, she caught me checking her out. My cheeks turned red as I looked back to my principle. "Sir, why are you here with my new student?" I asked him. He looked at me and replied, "I'm going to go back to my office, I think Demetria has some explaining to do." He walked away and I was left alone with her. "So, Demetri-" "Can you please call me Demi?" She interrupted. "So, Demi, why are you late?" She looked up at me and I saw tears starting to fill in her eyes. "I-I-I-Well..." "Demi" "Yes, Miss Gomez?" "Do you want to talk about it? If its personal its alright, I understand. But I want you to know that if you need help I am ALWAYS here, OK? No matter what, I will help you get through it? Stay after class, if you would like. I will support you, always." I finished. Her eyes gleamed and she smiled, a real smile, which made me melt. "Thank you so much, Miss Gomez." "No need to thank me, Demi, its my pleasure." I smiled, looking at the broken girl, straight into her captivating eyes. "Now lets go inside and start class." I said. I opened the door for her, and she walked in and took a seat right by my desk. This was going to be one hell of a year.
