Not long after the night in that I spent with the boys, I received a phone call just when I had stepped inside of the house after a casual day at work. I'd only had some paperwork today, so I could leave already after lunch. I picked up my phone and smiled at the number on the screen.

"Hey, Dal." I said with a grin on my lips as I entered the kitchen and placed the grocery bags that I had picked up on my way home down on the counter.

"Hey, beautiful." Dallon replied, and I let out a giggle before my voice faded out.

It felt wrong for us to be having conversations like this, simply because it felt like a betrayal to Raúl. And as Brendon had happily announced a few nights prior, Dallon also had a steady girlfriend at the moment. I didn't know why he hadn't told me about it, and I told myself that the reason he hadn't told me was why I was so hurt about the announcement.

"What are you doing?"

"Just got home. Putting some groceries away. How 'bout you, big guy?" I said, but immediately cringed at the last part. I clearly wasn't making the whole betrayal any better.

Dallon snickered, "Oh, nothing much. Just chilling with the boys." He said, and I could hear Brendon letting out a faint 'Hello!' in the background.

"Well, make sure to tell them I said hi." I said and chuckled, while putting the last groceries away in the fridge and throwing the plastic bag.

"Of course," Dallon said, but quickly continued. "I just wanted to pop in to say hello. But, eh, talk to you soon? Have some recording of new songs to do."

"Oh-- yeah, of course." I said, a bit taken aback by the statement but I didn't mind. I was just happy to have heard his voice again. "I'll talk to you soon." And with that, we hung up.

I spent the rest of the day watching Netflix on the couch until Raúl came home from a day of shooting the last episodes his tv show. He greeted me with a kiss and all I could think about was Dallon in that moment, but I tried to shrug it off. He ended up next to me on the couch and pulled me into his lap. We chatted for a while about how our days had been, before he changed the subject.

"Hey, so I've been thinking," he told me and I grinned.

"That's a first." I jokingly interrupted him and he pinched my side playfully. I giggled, and he continued.

"You should ask Dallon and his girl out to dinner. I want to finally meet him." He suggested, and I nodded a little even though the idea startled me- not even I had met Dallon's girlfriend yet, and any time I brought it up he just seemed to want to avoid it.

"Could I invite Brendon and Gabe too?" I wondered, and Raúl happily agreed. The more the merrier, right?

And so, I texted the three of my friends the following day, telling them about the idea. They all thought it seemed great, and we decided to go out for dinner the upcoming weekend since all of us would be free by then and not busy with work.
