(Not mine)
You awoke to the sound of children, all of them talking and answering questions at once. You knew that the Nightbloods were to be taught today, but you didn't realise how early, or loud, they would be.
Sighing you sat up on the bed. You stretched feeling your back crack in relief. You then stood and changed into something a bit more appropriate for outside the bedroom. You knew that Lexa wouldn't mind you stepping out barely clothed but the kids, just might.
As you exited the room and made your way up to Lexa and the Nightbloods you smiled to yourself. You were extremely lucky to have Lexa. She was your rock, your love and you still struggled to comprehend the fact she loved you just the same. Your girlfriend was the best thing to ever happen to you.
Knocking softly you heard Lexa's voice halt and the Nightbloods happily cheering your name.
"Y/N, Y/N! Heda! Can we let her in?" You heard Lexa agree and felt the grin eat at your mouth and you prepared for the onslaught, your feet rooting firmly to the ground. In a way you had became a mother to these kids, looking after them since they arrived, they were getting older but it was warming to see that they still admired you as well as your affection. You caring for them while Lexa trained them.
As the door opened they all barrelled into you nearly knocking you off your feet. Laughing you greeted each of them, hugging them close. They all withdrew when Lexa's voice called out.
"Enough!" Her tone was firm but light hearted, not harbouring any real threat. Smirking you entered the room with Lexa on her throne, lazily leaning back. You greeted her with a quick kiss to the cheek before you sat on her lap. It was nice to be able to be like a couple sometimes, instead of acting simply like another obedient soldier which irritated you to no end.
Lexa found this out the hard way after an argument and so now, you were both more affectionate, but not in the eye of battle, which you were fine with, understanding that Lexa did that to keep you out of harms way as much as possible.

You stayed with Lexa and the Nightbloods for the remainder of the session, smiling at them in encouragement. They answered every question with ease and obeyed the Commander's instructions without a moment of hesitation.
When Lexa had nearly finished teaching for that day one of the boy's put his hand in the air.
"Yes?" The dark hair girl inquired, nodding for him to ask his question. His eyes were wide and he looked between you and Lexa.
"Heda, are you and Y/N going to get married?" You froze at the question and Lexa did the same, stumbling over her words for the first time in front of the Nightbloods.
"I..uhh..." She shook herself and smiled softly.
"If that is what fate has planned." She answered with bright red cheeks, the boy frowned but didn't press the question. The Nightbloods were dismissed, a few of them looking back at you and the Heda. You couldn't say you weren't disappointed, you had hoped that maybe one day you two would be more than you were now. But Lexa was still fidgeting in her throne and so you ignored the urge to say something.

When they had left you had moved in front of her, sitting fully in her lap, facing the Commander. You had been kissing her slowly for a little while before you pulled away and leant your forehead rest against hers. She refused to meet your eyes and you brought your fingers to her chin, lifting up her face.
"Lexa, look at me please." You begged letting your voice waver, her gaze immediately focusing on you.
"I don't mind if you don't want to marry me Lex, but-" You were cut off as she kissed you again, her lips softer this time gliding with ease over yours.
"I would love to marry you, Y/N." Your heart sped up rapidly as she continued, "You would make the most beautiful bride to ever grace our land and I'd be lucky to see such a sight and have you as mine, and me as yours." You felt lightheaded, her words working miracles on you. It felt as though you were in a fairytale.
"It was I who thought maybe you didn't want to marry me..." The Commander admitted, her eyes once again landing anywhere but on you.
"Marrying you would be the greatest moment of my life and I would be the luckiest woman on Earth." You replied, kissing the Commander's cheek.
"Well then, maybe one day when there is no more threat of war, we shall be married." She chuckled, kissing your nose.
