Lexa had always been very cautious when it came to you, making sure that you got extra battle training as well as one of her warriors being your personal bodyguard, which you hated very much. You, unlike Lexa, believed that you were capable of protecting yourself, and that had lead to a few lively debates between the two of you.

"Lexa, I'm not helpless-"

"No, because you have a good bodyguard in Zak. He has served you well." Lexa replies, making her way over from the desk to where you were, seated cross-legged on the bed, a frown on your face.

"No." You emphasis as she stops in front of you, an exasperated look on her face from you complaining about her precautions so much. "Because my extra training has helped. I can look after myself now." You tell her seriously, only for Lexa to let out a quiet laugh. Glaring at her, you wait until she's done to raise an eyebrow at her.

"Really? You really think so?" She questions, clearly not believing you at your word.

"Yeah, Lexa. I'm as good as any of your warriors now." You claim, feeling a little irritated that Lexa was so unconvinced that you weren't a weak helpless kid. The look she gives you leaves you feeling a little disheartened that she thinks that's untrue.

"Really? Wanna bet?" Lexa replies, a smile making its way onto her lips while you let out a breath at her sudden upbeat humour.

"A bet?" You reply, somewhat confused that Lexa had suggested something like this.

"Yes. A bet." Lexa confirms, turning around and walking into the middle of the room. Timidly, you follow her, curious as to what the bet would entail.

"Okay." You unsurely agree, standing in front of Lexa in the middle of the tent. "What is it?"

"If you can pin me to the ground, you win and you will no longer need a bodyguard." Lexa tells you, a small smug smile on her lips that leads you to believe that there is a second part to this too-good-to-be-true bet. "However, if I pin you, Zak remains bodyguard and you don't complain again." Lexa finishes, her tone slightly reassured. Of course Lexa believed she could pin you, she was the Commander.

"Right, deal." You agree instantly, knowing you were capable of pinning her if you really tried. After giving her a quick grin, you count down to three to begin the match and before you can even raise your hands in defence, Lexa pounces.

You hadn't expected her to tackle you straight away, so when you end up on the ground with the wind knocked out of you, you're pretty disgruntled.

"No fair." You grunt, lying motionless while Lexa lies comfortably on top of you, her expression smug. "I thought we were gonna spar a little first."

"Rules are rules, y/n." She replies happily, getting off of you and walking over to the bed that you share. "Zak will be happy to hear that he has not lost his job." Lexa quips, before getting under the covers and putting her head on her pillow, leaving you there on the floor, feeling cheated.

Rolling your eyes, you quickly get over her childish behaviour because you know she just wants you to be safe, but as you get into bed you mumble "Rematch next week." before you let out a small yawn and close your eyes.
