Madness

Chapter 1

     It was 11 pm, I was sketching the beautiful full moon from the small window seat in my room. I finished my sketch and decided to go to bed, because I knew that my Hogwarts letter was going to come any day and I wanted to be up early. I yawned and set my sketch pad down on my bedside table. I trudged over to my bathroom and started brushing my teeth.

Suddenly, I heard a loud banging noise coming from my room. I rinsed my mouth and set my toothbrush down. I cautiously walked over to my bedroom door and peered in. I saw that my window was open and when I stepped into the room it was freezing cold. I grabbed my hoodie and pulled it over my head, then I walked over to my window. I poked my head out the window and saw nothing unusual. I closed the window and stuck my hands in the hoodie's pockets. My teeth were chattering, I didn't understand why it had gotten so cold all of the sudden. I walked over to my thermostat and saw that it was 66 degrees.

I then remembered that I had swapped my older brother, Jeremy's toothpaste for glue this morning. I assumed that he was trying to scare me as payback. I walked over to my door, fully prepared to wake him up and give him a piece of my mind. I grabbed my doorknob and turned, but it was locked. I quickly grew angry. "JEREMY UNLOCK THIS DOOR RIGHT NOW!" I yelled pulling on the doorknob. I was known for my extremely short temper and Jeremy rarely pranked me to this degree because of it. The doorknob wouldn't budge when I tried to turn it again. I started walking towards my window, fully prepared to climb out of it and into Jeremy's room. I knew he usually kept his window open at night.

However, when I tried to open my window it was also locked. I started cursing under my breath and decided to just get him back with another prank in the morning. I plopped onto my bed and stared up at the ceiling. I saw a dark shadow flicker by window. I sat up. "Jeremy? I swear if its you doing all this you're so dead tomorrow." I huffed before getting up and pacing my room.

Out of nowhere a dark, formless shadow loomed up in front of me. I stumbled backwards and looked up at the hideous demon-like thing. A searing pain ripped across my whole body and I screamed in agony. My vision was blurring and I was gasping for air. I saw the creature reach a tentacle like thing and watched in horror as it entered my body. The tentacle slithered under my skin causing me to writhe and scream in agony. Then the darkness finally took me and I knew no more.
