"Ten bucks says you're each texting your boyfriends." Camila bet, closing her menu, placing it on the table in front of her, and proceeding to eye her friends across the table.
"You owe each of us ten bucks," Normani responded, setting her own menu down, followed by her phone, and sitting back in her seat. "Ally's texting her fiancé." Normani smirked and Camila rolled her eyes.
"Just stop being so... in love." The Cuban settled on her choice of words.
"It'll be you soon." Ally said in a playfully warning tone.
"Yeah, I don't know about that." Camila responded, honestly.
"Mila, I think it's a little late to be having second thoughts. I mean filming starts tomorrow and we are waiting to eat lunch with last season's Bachelorette." Dinah pointed out with a slight chuckle in her voice.
"Speaking of," Normani mumbled and subtly pointed at the door.
The group of four all stood up to greet the girl. Camila took a second to look at Jojo. In her opinion, the other girl embodied everything she wasn't, making her very nervous to be the next one to take her previous position. Camila wasn't sure she could compete. In her eyes, Jojo was more beautiful, more refined, more eloquent, and, at only a couple years older, well put together. If Camila knew of Jojo back when she was prepubescent, she would bet good money that Jojo would be the cause of all her insecurities later on; subconsciously, of course.
Jojo, however, wasn't here in a high school setting to make Camila's life miserable and, remembering that, the younger girl could breathe. In fact, Jojo was the one to set up the lunch date, wanting to give Camila any advice she could.
"Camila!" Jojo squealed. She seemed very... energetic. Camila always assumed it was an act on television, but she, apparently, really was this bubbly.
"Hey," Camila tried to sound as excited as possible, giving the shorter a hug.
"Thanks for meeting with me." Jojo responded, giving each of the other girls the same hello.
"Are you kidding? Thank you for meeting with me."
The group of, now, five took their seats, giving Jojo a second to look at the menu before they began their conversations.
"So," Dinah broke the silence. "Camila is nervous."
"Dinah!" Camila whisper-yelled slapping her friend with the back of her hand in the process. Jojo threw her head back in laughter.
"You know Becca Tilly, right? The one that was on The Bachelor before and then again with Ben?" We all nodded. "Well her and I got really close and I was freaking out like you would not believe before my season started. Bascially, she called in some of her friends from a previous The Bachelorette season and they calmed me down. It's a lot scarier than it seems."
"You're dating twenty five people at once, though. You're basically going through a break up every two weeks." Camila pointed out, taking a nervous sip of her water.
"It only gets hard when you actually make a connection with the guys, in your case, girls. Before that, it's kinda the same as not going on a second date." She reassured.
A waiter arrived to take their orders and the conversation quickly went back to he topic at hand, Camila too nervous to not ask any and every question on her mind.
"What about all the drama that's going to surround the contestants? Do I listen to that or is it all fabricated? How real is the show?"
"Well, what you experience is about ninety-five percent real but what the viewers see when the show airs, well that's only seventy-five percent real; if that." Jojo explained.
