Shay was dreamy. Shay was the type of girl everyone should be with. She was the activist, the Saint, the volunteer, the kind-hearted. Shay was the kind of person Camila hopes she would be if she wasn't so lazy and unmotivated. That's what Camila really liked, she liked how Shay motivated her. Shay was unproblematic, something Camila had never had in her life.
The forty-five minute drive to the zoo passed by way too quickly for Camila's liking but her spirit took a turn once they stepped pasted the ticket booth and she became excited once more.
She noticed that Tori, Kendall, and Gigi were extremely shy. Camila never really had to break through anyone's shell, all the people she's dated have been the complete opposite. It wasn't something she didn't like, she just realized that she'd have to work a little harder and remember that she had to put in effort as well.
Throughout the date, Camila really tried to cover all her bases and talk to everyone. At the petting area, she swooned when she heard Kendall's laugh. That sparked up conversation and turned into the two of them laughing as a sheep was a little too aggressive when eating out of the girls' hands. Kendall also took the chance to tell Camila about her dog and the dogs her sisters had. Camila, realizing that many of the contestants had dogs, began thinking the matchmakers hat chose the girls for the show must have not been too far off.
"Where do you want to live once you settle down?" Camila asked, gaze kept of the pig she found oddly adorable.
"I'd have to say I imagine my future in California because I really love the life there. I love being by the beach and I love the mentality that whatever happens, happens. I've always been the type of person to stress about insignificant things, so sometimes just being in California and remembering the general idea of 'good vibes' can calm me down. It sounds crazy, I know." Kendall chuckled nervously.
Camila shook her head. "I grew up by the beach in Florida so I want to be by the beach, too. Plus I stress too much, so maybe it'd be good for me."
Camila could already picture herself in a beach house, waking up to the sound of waves crashing, without a care in the world. Maybe the life Kendall envisioned was just what she needed.
By the koalas, Camila didn't miss the opportunity to remind everyone about the pun she had made on the date card. Gigi complimented her on it, explained how puns are the new poetry. Camila couldn't help but go along with the joke, telling Gigi how mediocre famous poets like Maya Angelou are now that puns have conquered the world of words. They had a good laugh over that, and Camila discovered that jokes and laughter seemed to be what was breaking the ice between her and the other girls.
Camila spent a lot of time amongst the girls, but she noticed how close Shay always was. The only time Shay wasn't as close was when they got to the lions and Cara freaked out.
"Guys, lions are the shit!" She exclaimed, moving from the back of the group to the front where Camila was. "I'm gonna need us to take a sick picture like this." Cara told Camila and put her fist up.
"That's such a cool tattoo why haven't I noticed it?" Camila asked, bringing Cara's fist closer. Cara opened her hand and Camila looked at the black and white lion on her index finger.
"Same reason you haven't seen any of my tattoos," Cara motioned to the one on the side of her hand. "I hide them well. I have more, though."
"Think I'll be able to see them sometime soon?" Camila bit her lip, obviously flirting now, still holding Cara's hand in hers.
