Pool parties are supposed to be relaxed, but Lauren was anything but relaxed. In fact, she woke up still a little aggravated from her interview the night before which resulted in her joking Gigi on her morning jog. Lauren soon after decided jogging wasn't her thing.
The rest of the girls were beyond excited for the party as it provided them with even more time with Camila. Lauren simply saw it as more time sharing Camila. She was really hoping for a one on one date this week but she wouldn't be certain until the date card was in her hand; there was no guarantee. That was a difficult feeling for Lauren to have. Being unsure about what the future would entail wasn't something new to Lauren but it was still unsettling.
After a lengthy shower that seemed pretty useless once she realized they would be in the pool all afternoon, Lauren slowly went got dressed. A bikini and jeans shorts was a change Lauren was happy to make after having to peel her skin-tight dress off the night before.
Coming out of the washroom, Lauren almost bumped into Cara.
"Hey," The British girl greeted her. "You look ready to jump in the pool." She joked.
Lauren laughed, looking down at her half-clad body.
"Well it is a pool party," Lauren made her way around the stair case and began walking down with the other girl.
"The producers were here delivering a bunch of inflatables earlier today, did you see?"
Lauren shook her head. "Like the cliché swans and pineapples?"
Cara turned to Lauren as they reached the last step.
"Even a pizza." The two laughed together, entering the living room where everyone was.
They took a seat on one of the bar stools and spun around to face the couches.
"So how long do you guys think she'll be here today?" Ariana asked and everyone's private conversations had settled down.
Lauren's eyes scanned the room as she awaited an answer from someone that wasn't her.
"Hopefully long enough for all of us to have time with her." Kendall spoke up. "But that's unlikely."
"Yeah, it's unlikely because people are selfish and shouldn't be here." Taylor scoffed and everyone turned to look at her. She was seated on the arm of a lazy-boy in the corner while Selena sat on the other side.
The girls simultaneously looked around at each other, double checking they had heard Taylor right and weren't missing something.
"I'm lost." Ariana spoke what everyone was thinking. A chorus of 'yeah's followed.
"I'm just saying it's not fair some people are here and it's not fair they're taking our time with Camila away from us." Taylor further explain, still leaving everyone confused. The girls shared another confused look and Taylor huffed audibly before continuing. "I'm talking about Lauren!"
Everyone then looked at Lauren and, if Lauren had a mirror, she'd probably hold it up and look at herself as well. Lauren brows furrowed and her hand raised slowly as she pointed her index finger at herself in questions.
"Yes!" Taylor practically cried out. "You!"
"What did I do?" Lauren asked. "Or better yet, what am I doing?
"Why are you directing that at me? I'm sure anyone could answer that." Taylor responded.
"I can't." Cara cut in, raising her hand. "Based on the confusing looks on our faces, I don't think many of us can answer." Lauren offered her a subtle smile before redirecting her attention.
