"Are you alright?" the Doctor asked Caroline as soon as they were inside the TARDIS and had closed the door. He was looking at Caroline with a worried expression on his face and Caroline sent him a small smile.
"Not really. I just know how it feels not to be able to live out your life as you were supposed to. Those kids should be at school or something, not hiding in the woods." she told him as she placed herself on the stairs. The Doctor moved over and sat beside her and the two of them stared into thin air for more than a minute.
"Does this happen to you often?" Caroline then asked, breaking the silence. The Doctor looked at her, confused by her question and Caroline continued. "You know, finding trouble wherever you go."
"No!" the Doctor exclaimed with wide eyes, but then he seemed to ponder something and his expression suddenly changed. "Well, yes... But I have fun too!"
"Maybe we should find some of that fun?" Caroline suggested with a smile as she got up from her seat on the stairs.
"Brilliant!" the Doctor said and jumped to his feet as well.
He had barely reached the middle of the TARDIS before stopping and putting his hand into his pocket. He withdrew what looked like a cardholder and flipped it open to look at what was inside.
"Oh, okay." was all he said and then sent Caroline an apologetic smile.
"What is it Doctor?" Caroline asked warily, somehow knowing that 'fun' wasn't the next stop on their trip any longer. When Caroline came closer, he showed her what he had been looking at and Caroline saw a piece of paper with the note 'We need help.' on it. "Have you written that?"
"No, this is a physic paper. Someone sent me a message and that someone needs help." he told her and had already awoken the TARDIS for another travel.
When they stepped out of the TARDIS they had landed on an empty field near a passing by road and nothing or no one was there.
"Weren't we supposed to help someone?" Caroline asked as she looked around at nothing but soil and weeds. The Doctor looked equally confused and walked out on the road, looking in both directions.
Caroline heard the sound of a car and the music before the Doctor did and pulled him off the road. The next moment, a black car came into sight and the rock music became louder the closer it got.
"I have seen that car before." the Doctor suddenly said as he looked at the Chevrolet Impala. The driver seemed to notice them too, because Caroline saw how the car was slowing down and it finally came to a stop right in front of them.
"Who are they?" Caroline asked with a low voice as she watched two tall men step out of the car, both of them at least six feet. The Doctor scratched the back of his head before he answered her and Caroline sensed that this was an awkward situation for him.
"Dean and Sam Winchester." was all he said and then moved forward to greet the two men.
"Wait, these are the ones that you..." Caroline started, but the Winchesters had come to close to not hear her.
"Doctor! What are you doing here?" One of them asked in a deep voice. He reached out his hand, but the Doctor just took it and then leaned forward, giving the man an air-kiss on each cheek.
When he moved to the other man, who was at least a head taller than the Doctor, Caroline couldn't help but snicker.
Both of the Winchesters had frozen in place for a moment, but the Doctor didn't seem fazed by it. When they heard Caroline's laugh, the Winchesters' eyes fell on her and it only seemed to embarrass them further.
