"Everything is falling apart. No one knows what to do. We just aren't the same. I can't really look at you anymore. I feel like I'm drowning in shame" Grace sang softly as the music teacher played piano.
The song finished and the class clapped, bored expressions on their faces. Grace didn't care that they weren't listening to her song; she just wanted to practice for Milo. She had started writing a song after Milo had sung her Night and Day. Grace sat back for the rest of the class and just tried to think of more lyrics for the song. "No, no I do not wanna go. Take, take, take it all back" Grace crumpled up the piece of paper she had written the lyrics on. They were too pop and not enough soul. The class passed by slowly and Grace just ignored the rest of the class and teacher.
Writing a song for M, but what about A?
Henry took out his phone under the table
Hey Will. What are you up to? You look bored. I'm bored. I'm hungry. I need a Scotch. Let's blow off next class, its only Maths. What do you have?
He could hear Will's phone go off a couple of rows in front of him. The teacher strode down the aisle in between the seats and looked down angrily at Will. Will smiled up at her, using his teacher smile.
"Sorry miss, it's just my grandmother. She's very ill and she has dementia so she forgets that I'm in school sometimes" Will lied looking up at the teacher with his best 'Oh poor me' eyes.
Henry could see the English teachers heart melting and she patted him on the shoulder lightly "Oh I'm so sorry William, I didn't know and please give your grandmother an extra hug from me"
Henry had to bite his tongue to keep the laughter in. He could not believe Will had pulled that off, again. As soon as the teacher had turned her back on Will, Will pulled out his phone again. Will turned around and grinned at Henry. Henry's phone vibrated in his hand and he smiled at the message from Will
Hey. I am bored, very bored and hungry, very hungry. I need pot. Now. Next class is metal. And please stop doing this. There are only so many poor forgetful relatives I can invent.
When the bell rang, Henry slipped out of class quickly and waited for Will.
"C'mon lets go" he said as he began to walk down the corridor and out of St. Jude's.
Will hurried to catch up with him and Henry paused for him.
"Empire and then order?" Henry asked.
Will nodded in agreement and they hailed a cab.
"Race?" Will asked once they were in the taxi.
"Yep" Henry said.
Henry took out his phone and Will did too. Henry typed furiously.
Hey E. Come to the Empire like now. Thanks we'll talk about our little scheme. And about whatever you said you wanted to tell us.
Will typed slower but sent the text first.
Hey C. Empire. Now. Talk about scheme etc.
When they got back to the Empire Elizabeth and Charlie were waiting on the L shaped couch.
"Can we stop plotting against Issie?" Charlie blurted out.
Elizabeth and Henry exchanged knowing glances. They were telepathically communicating "Knew it" as they both had thought that Charlie would give up.
"Sorry we've already started" Will shrugged.
"But guys she's my sister" Charlie whined.
Henry rolled his eyes "It was your idea"
