"Okay, Liam, it's time for me to go to sleep now." Scott explained to the pup on his heels. The beta gave him a look that was almost of annoyance, and Scott laughed a bit. "Yeah, I know you can understand me, I don't know why I said it like that."

Liam wagged his tail, slightly relieved he was staying with Scott instead of Lydia. Lydia had gotten to the point of begging she wanted to take him home so bad. But Scott refused, noticing the pup's discomfort.

"Okay, so you can take the couch." Scott told his beta, laying a spare blanket over the living room couch. Scott waited expectantly for him to hop onto the couch, but Liam only shifted on his paws nervously. Is the couch really this big? He thought nervously. Scott noticed his hesitation, and scooped the beta up with one arm.

Liam turned in circles a few times before deciding the soft blanket was warm enough, and layed on it, closing his eyes. He noticed how exhausted he really was, and the soreness of his paws. Walking around with the tiny legs was harder than it looks. Scott rubbed the spot between his ears a bit (that was now Liam's favorite spot to be pet) and bid him goodnight as the beta drifted off into sleep..

When his eyes opened again, it was dark. Liam could make out every inch of the room almost as if his eyes were glowing. He suddenly felt very small and very out in the open. His mind began to wander..

Why did someone turn him into a puppy? To kill him? Teach him a lesson? Actually, who turned him into a puppy? And why a puppy??

He felt so small and defenseless. And small. Definitely small. If someone attacked him right now, he'd be dead.

His ears picked up on the sound of careful footprints, and he whimpered softly to himself, curling up tighter on the blanket. He wanted Scott. Scott would protect him. He definitely couldn't protect himself anymore.

The sound of footprints was most likely part of his imagination, but it felt so real at the time. He shakily stood on all fours, and glanced around. Nothing. But the sounds of people walking toward him told him otherwise.

In a blur, he raced up the stairs and into Scott's room. He whimpered a bit before entering, hearing as Scott was asleep. But his nerves got the better of respecting his alpha's privacy, and he hopped onto the bed, burrowing under the comforter in a trembling mess.

Still shaking, he curled into Scott's side, and hid from the imaginary attackers. Scott didn't wake up, and Liam felt himself immediately becoming calmer at the steady sound of his alpha's heart. Slowly, he drifted off to sleep, feeling protected and safe.

*******************************

Scott woke up to a small heartbeat and the warmth of a small body next to him. Carefully, as though not to disturb the other, he peered over to see a tiny puppy snuggled into his side. Scott smiled a bit as the events from the night before came back to him. It was still odd the see the tiny pup and smell Liam at the same time.

After getting dressed, Scott stood at the sink, brushing his teeth. Yep- he was one of those weird people who brush their teeth before they eat breakfast. As he turned to grab the towel behind him, he stumbled a bit and grabbed the counter, tripping over a tiny figure at his heels.

"Liam! Wha- what are you doing?" he questioned the little pup, almost not rhetoricly. It became rhetorical when he realized that Liam couldn't answer. He shook his head and sighed. This was really weird. Like one step above the usual weirdness that occurs in their lives. As he gazed at the tail-wagging animal that was once a hormonal teenage boy, he swore to himself that he'd get to the bottom of this.

Which is why, less than two hours later, the whole pack was gathered in the McCall living room.

"Where's Liam?" Lydia immediately asked, searching for the adorable thing that was now Liam. The others rolled their eyes. Lydia really is a dog lover..

Upon seeing no puppy, Lydia frowned at Scott. "Did you loose him??" Hayden sat up in the seat she was slouched in in alarm. Scott chuckled a bit.

"Um no, he's um, lying down." After Scott said this, Stiles gave him a suspicious side- eyed glance.

"Okay, the last time you said that, he was duct taped and in your bathtub." he pointed out. Hayden gave her alpha another alarmed look. Malia just snorted, probably recalling the time the beta was bitten. That was back when Scott was only just figuring the alpha thing out, and she was just figuring out the world- especially math. She hated math.

"Guys, chill- he's lying on the heater vent." Scott rolled his dark brown eyes at his friends. Lydia cooed softly, picturing the sight in her mind, while Stiles rolled his eyes in annoyance. Scott continued, not wanting to get mixed up in that drama. "What we really should be worried about is trying to turn him back." the alpha explained. The group nodded.

"And why he was turned in the first place." Hayden added, kind of to herself. Little did she know, she was the reason..

Meanwhile, Katerina Sullivan was pacing about the old Hale mansion, puzzled over previous events. What went wrong? How did this happen? Was this good enough revenge?

Clearly not. Even if it had worked, she'd still feel incomplete. But if Hayden were to die... That's more like it..

She whipped out the old spell book. The thing was much less a book anymore, with it's dog-eared and peeling pages, the stains of God knows what splattered about, and the worn down to almost nothing leather on the cover. But it was all Kat had, and she would make it work..

She flipped it to the page she had scoured endless nights to find- the page with the death spell on it. The one she messed up.

The page was almost nothing now, a huge stain of what could only be blood covering a big chunk of it, but she could just make out the Latin words. She wrote them and rewrote them, knowing she said every one of them before. She pronounced and repronounced, hearing the different syllables and pronunciations. Maybe that was it. Maybe she pronounced them wrong??

As she was rewriting it for the seventeenth time, a certain person appeared in the doorway. A person we all know and hate.

"Who are you and what are doing here?" Satan in a v-neck announced, watching the young blond with amusement as she leapt ten feet in the air.

"Uh, um, I'm-" she stuttered, brown eyes wide with fear as the jerk who should've stayed dead paced around her, in a slow moving, even paced circle. He smiled a bit upon seeing the spell book.

"So you're a witch huh?" he sneered. She gulped. He took that as a yes. " A new witch- that's for sure. Now tell me, what brings a witch to Beacon Hills?"

She finally calmed down enough to speak in full sentences. "Hayden Romero." Well I never said she had the guts to.

"Hayden? The one in Scott McCall's pack? That Hayden Romero?" The way he said Scott McCall would've made a mountain lion shiver in cold blooded fear. She nodded. She knew all about the McCall pack- but how did he?

"Who are you?" she managed to ask it in such a tone, unwavering and sharp, with authority. It was spoken in such a respectable way, the man decided to answer.

"Peter Hale. And you, little witch, will be a valuable asset to help me finally kill Scott McCall.."
