After changing I headed to the field. "Welcome to the military!" the commanding officer said. "You will be training for years and will go on special assignments. So from now on you will follow a schedule, and if any of you decide to break the rules there will be a punishment. Also on Saturdays and Sundays, you will have school." He draws in a quick breath and signals for someone else to come speak. A lady in her 20's I believe comes up to speak, "You have been given numbers based on your abilities. You all got the numbers between 60-80. Which means you all are higher than average in all or most of your classes. So we expect a lot from you all. You all will be given your schedules today so memorize them because training starts tomorrow. Now that is it for now."
I head with the others to the cafeteria to have dinner. I sit at the table in the far corner of the room. Out of the corner of my eye I see a group of guys come over to my table. I just ignore them and keep eating my sandwich. The group sits down by me.
"Hey pipsqueak this is our table move it," one of the guys say. I don't move. So he takes my tray and flips it off the table onto the ground. I just stand up slowly and look at the guy. I pick up the tray without taking my eyes off him. Once I got the tray I left without saying a word. I knew everyone was staring but I didn't look back. I decided to eat the rest of my lunch outside. I see a guy walk towards me and stand in front of me.
"Don't listen to those punks they just like picking on newbies," he says as he takes a seat next to me. I look at him and I realize that he has pretty gray eyes like a thunderstorm cloud, blonde hair, and a built body. I could tell he's been here for years.
"What do you need?" I ask him.
"Just wanted to see if you're ok"
"I'm fine," I say as I finish my dinner and leave.
I head toward my room and saw my schedule on my bed with a pair of pj's. I slip on the pj's, memorize my schedule, and head to sleep. I wake up at 5 o'clock am. I take a shower, brush my teeth and hair, slip on some new clothes, and head down for breakfast at 7 o'clock am.
I get my breakfast, another sandwich cause why not? It was better than the broth and bread I used to have. I see the group of bullies and decide to not pay attention to them. I pass by the blonde hair guy from yesterday and he waved me over to sit by him and his friends. I ignored him and headed outside. I feel someone grab my arm. It surprises me and I thought it was on of the bullies so I go in for a punch toward the head. My hand suddenly gets stopped as if I hit a fleshy brick wall. I look at who was holding my arm and saw it was the blonde guy.
"Whoa, calm down. I just wanted to ask what your name was? I didn't catch it yesterday cause you left before I could ask," he says.
"Lucy," I say trying to pull away from his strong grip.
"That's a nice name. Mine's Isaac."
"Are you going to let go now?" I ask.
"Before I let go I wanted to know if you would like to sit with my friends and I?" he asks with a pearly white smile.
"I'm fine," I say as I walk outside. Being alone makes me think and remember. I thought about the time before I locked my emotions away. The happiness, sadness, frustration, anger, and all the other emotions I had. I remember thinking as I finish breakfast. Emotions bring people together and tear them apart. Do I want to be alone so I can't be torn apart?
I head toward the training sessions. I got put in group 3 and I got a partner named Anonthy. I don't know where he is or what he looks like so I just stand here waiting. I decided when I started getting bored to do various exercises.
"Are you Lucy?" someone asks.
I get up and respond, "Yes are you Anthony?"
"Yes," he says.
"Well let's get started on the course," I say. I realize Anonthy is really tiny. He looks 13-14 with ocean blue eyes and light brown hair. We're on the obstacle course for what felt like 5 hours. At the last part of it, the monkey bars. My hand slips and I fall. I hit my head on something metal. I feel a great shock of pain go through me, and a second later all I see is black.
