Chapter 16: Dinner for Three

I just sighed when i saw and thought that i better get used to Nathan surprising me.

"Hello Nathan. How nice of you to drop by." My mom said.

Nathan smiled and replied "Well thank you Ms. Mendoza for having me today for dinner. Hi Mary." He said to me.

"Hullo Nathan." I said.

"Please call me Marie." My mom said clearly unable NOT to be charmed by Nathan. Nathan handed me the bouqet and my mom told me to change my clothes and so i went to my room again blushing while holding a bouqet of white roses. I changed into the longsleeves Nathan gave me and proceeded to the dining room where Nathan was helping my mom set the table.

I rolled my eyes at him and asked "Are you trying to be a gentleman in front of my mom or are you naturally like this?"

He smirked and said "A little bit of both i guess."

"Aren't you two cute together." My mom said putting her hands together delightedly. I shot my mother a glare and Nathan just snickered and continued setting the table. When it was done we all sat down together and Nathan got to business immediately.

"Ms.Mendoza." Nathan started but my mother said "Call me Marie."

Nathan smiled and said "Marie. I would like to ask permission to court your daughter. I couldn't help it but i fell in love with her. The way she smiles and laughs the way she seems to lose herself in the music she listens to. Her strength and passion well made me head over heels for her. I know it may sound so cliché and incredibly cheesy but i just can't live without her. I can't imagine a day where she isn't there. I could only hope that she would feel the same way about me." He said this with so much emotion i knew that he wasnt kidding not even the slightest bit was he flattering. He said it honestly and simply with a voice full of hope and love.

My mom heard it too and said "Of course I'll allow you to court her. Anyone could see that you love her. But the decision lies with Mary."

They both looked at me. I was completely shocked an well flattered by the way Nathan looked at me.

I just said "Yes."

And i told Nathan with my eyes all the things I couldn't say. And he understood.

"Well that was romantic." My mom said beaming at Nathan and me. "Well let's eat before the food gets cold." My mom said clearly happy for us. And so was I.

We ate and chatted mostly about random things like the weather, school, and well how Nathan came to be a theraphist.

When we finished my mom asked "So would you be staying tonight? In Mary's room?"

Nathan blushed a slight red and nodded. My mom just smiled and told us to go to bed and she'll handle the dishes. Nathan stood up and let me escort him to my room. As soon as he closed the door i just lost my mind and kissed him, then i looked at him in the eye and asked "Did you really mean what you said?"

Nathan held my face in his hands and his eyes dark eyes met my violet ones. He said "Mary, i truly, deeply, and honestly love you."

And then his lips met mine hesitant at first as if he's not sure but when i held his face closer to me he became more passionate. He kissed me with such emotion I can't help but cry tears of joy. It was then i was sure i was his and he was mine.

He just needs to wait a bit longer.
