About the same year as elementary school and up to freshman year of high school I was living in FL (Florida). The time I was in FL was really amazing, and I'd never want to take back any second of it. Talk about living the life! Just a 15 to 20 minute walk to the beach. You can't beat that! I was definitely so happy when I was there. What would usually happen when I got home from school was...go home, get food, and skateboard to the beach. I never really watched TV, I played video games but not much, I just lived life. Florida is truly paradise. But besides the amazing time outside of school, school actually changed my life. I know right funny to say that right? A child thinking school was cool and fun. The teachers though where I went were great and they were really there to make sure each student understood the concepts. I respected that without a doubt. There was this one teacher though named Ms. Johnson. She was basically my support system. Because around that time I was still being bullied and I was real quiet because of that. She gave me a mentor one day. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but I'm happy she did so.
My mentor was a pastor named Mr. Early. Me and Mr. Early talked for awhile. Then finally convinced me to go his church for a youth group. I kind of was almost a little bit out of my shell and just started talking more. There were an enormous amount of people that were there. At that time though it felt so good. Real good. I always believed there was a god, and I prayed. But Mr. Early introduced me to more of God and my faith grew from that. It left me speechless. The reason for that is I was so many good things were happening at that moment. Like the chapter title. It was a blessing. A true blessing. God was really in my life. From that point on I didn't really feel alone. I always remember "He will never leave, nor forsake you." I hold onto to that because whenever I do go through some struggles I won't feel alone. Everything happens for a reason and those years was when I really learned that.
