Travis parked his car in our building's parking garage and then we walked out and went down the street to Chipotle. While we were waiting in line to order food I decided I should switch it up a bit and order something different. "Jessi! Long time no see! How's Cody?" one of the cashiers said when she spotted me. I awkwardly looked at the floor while Travis looked at me curiously. "I don't really know how he is right now. I haven't talked with him in a couple of weeks. "Ooohh." she said, "I'm guessing you don't want the usual then." I just shook my head in response and ordered my food and drink while Travis watched curiously. I asked for my food to go and she looked at me sympathetically and just nodded as she keyed in the order. Travis ordered his food next and it sounded like one or two of the people that were working recognized him too. I heard him ask for his food to go too and he stood next to me while we waited for it to be given to us.

They handed us each our bag of food and we walked out. I walked the way back to our building by memory, not really seeing where I was going and knocking into several people because of this. Travis took me by my shoulders and started steering me towards the elevator once we got inside. When the elevator doors opened I numbly walked inside and didn't move to hit the button for my floor. Travis hit one of the buttons and the elevator started moving upward. It came to a stop and he guided me down the hall until we got to a door, which he took his key out and opened it. He then walked me over to a table and then sat down across from me. I robotically took my food out of the bag and just set it in front of me on the table. We both sat there quietly, the only sound in the room the sound of Travis unwrapping the foil from his wrap.

Travis ended up breaking the silence, "So the people at Chipotle know you too." "Yeah, I go there all the time. But I haven't been in two or three weeks." I responded. "Sounded like it." he said with a small smile and then we went back to sitting quietly and I started unwrapping my food. Travis was about halfway through his lunch when he paused and asked me, "I was kind of curous about something the girl that took our orders asked you." I swallowed the bite I had just taken and looked at him and he continued, "She asked you how Cody was doing and you looked all sad...Who's Cody?" I took a sip of my drink, sighed and said, "He was a friend, who became more than a friend, and we spent a lot of time at Chipotle, so they knew both of us..." "And you guys broke up a couple of weeks ago, which has caused you to avoid Chipotle so you could avoid thinking of him?" Travis guessed and I just shook my head yes in response, looking at my lap where my hands were resting, folded.

An awkward silence followed and after a couple minutes I looked at a clock and jumped up, starting to wrap my food back up in the foil and putting it back in the bag. "What's wrong?" Travis asked, standing up. "I have to go home and change clothes. I'm covering my roommate's shift." "Oh, do you want me to walk you home?" he asked. "I'm not leaving the building." I said, laughing. "Yeah, but still, just because." "No, I'll be fine," I said, walking towards the door, "besides, I should let you finish your lunch." "Alright then." he said as he opened the door for me, "I'll see you around then." "See you around." I responded, waving goodbye as I walked through the door and down the hall.
