Let me just say that Jessi borrowed my laptop to write the last update, which is how I found out about this blog, and it's also how I have talked her into letting me do an update of tonight's date from my point of view.

Yes, you're great for letting me borrow your laptop so I could make a post, now get on with yours, Clark.

I will, after I assure everyone that I will now be reading the previous posts and future ones as well, because that is what friends do.

You don't have to read all the past ones....(=O__O=) Really, you don't. You were there for most of them.

And now I'm even more curious about what they say. Welp, on to what happened on the date.

Yes, do that, please.

Jessi, Cody and I had just been texting making plans to hang out for the night and go see a movie. While we had been doing that, I had been hanging out with Jenny, running some lines, and I figured that it'd probably be rude to not let her in on the plans we were making, so I let her see my phone. She kind of hummed and nodded when she saw the texts and so, being the gentleman I am, I invited her to join. I could've sworn that I texted Cody and Jessi that I had invited Jenny, but given the look I got when they showed up at my door, I guess I didn't.

Anyway, after we decided that she was coming to dinner with us, and after I thought that I told Jessi and Cody, we went back to running lines, until about an hour and a half before we had planned to leave. That was when Jenny looked up from her script and said, "I think I'm going to run home and freshen up a bit." "Okay." I said, and we got up off of the couch and I walked her to my door. I opened up the door and she said, "I'll see you in a bit." as she stepped out into the hall and I waved goodbye.

When she got back to my place a little over an hour later, I realzied that I had never told her that it was just friends hanging out, and wondered if she assumed that Cody was Jessi's boyfriend. I meant to tell her what the intentions of the shindig was to just chill and stuff, but it came out more like, "Just so you know, Cody and Jessi aren't, like together." To which she responded, "And you're still single, right?" Of course, my answer was yes, and she said, "Well, then, it's all good." So I think that she was in the midset that it was some sort of double date meant to get Cody and Jessi together and that we were the second date. Or, well, maybe she thought that we were setting her up with Cody.

So, not long after Jenny got back, Jessi and Cody were at the door, and, after the slight pause in which Jessi and I communicated through looks and gesticulations, we went out to my car and then I drove us to the pizza place. During dinner, I was only slightly irritated that Cody had taken my usual seating plan for dates, but, after the quick text conversation Jessi and I had, we concluded he was still under the impression that this was just friends hanging out. Of course, I got slightly more irritated once it became clear that Cody and Jenny had hit it off. And I guess it scaled to slight anger from irritation since Jessi nudged me 16 times to get me to stop glaring at Cody.

Then, when I walked Jenny back to her car, I found out that she and Cody had exchanged numbers, and it was Cody this and Cody that until we got to where she had parked. I opened the car door for her and let her get in, and before I closed the door for her too, she said to me, "Thank you so much for setting this up, it was a nice night, and I really like Cody, he's a nice guy." I gave her my best fake smile and said, "You're welcome." and attempted to gently close the door. Then I stuck my hands in my pockets and stepped into the empty space next to her car, waving as she pulled away. Then I went back inside, and decided to wait for Jessi to get back.
