We parked in the school parking lot and headed towards the building. Evie kept looking at me with a suspicious eye, and it was giving me the creeps.
"I know you're nervous," she said to me, "don't be."
"I'm nervous every day," I tell her.
"I know but still there's no reason to be," she explains.
"Um, are you forgetting about Claire and her clique?" I ask her, "They torture me like every day!"
"Well aside from them, there's nothing to be nervous about," she says. Wow, she is way too positive about everything.
We walk up the steps and go into the high school. Everyone is gossiping in the halls and laughing with their friends, which used to be me, not anymore. Evie and I head to our lockers, which are coincidentally next to each other. I spin my combination into my lock and get my books for first period, which is history. Ugh! History and I have a love-hate relationship, sure I get a decent B+ but still it's confusing, like do we really need to learn about Ancient Greece? I don't think so, what's so important about things that happened hundreds of years ago, like haven't they heard of 'live in the present not the past'?
Evie and I walked to homeroom to listen to the announcements, and then we went to history. We have the first three periods together, and then I don't see her again until lunch, which is ninth period. In between that time I am normally approached by Claire and her robots, like I am every day, and every day I let them do this to me. I don't know why but it's like I look forward to it, even though I don't. I hate it but I put up with it, it's just how it is. Claire used to be my friend until she was consumed by the need to be popular and she changed, ever since then she's been my bully. I sit down at my desk and stare into space as Mr. Gray teaches us the same old stuff we learned last year.
When class was over we went to second period, which is English. Evie and I sat down at our seats and took out our books, and read. I am reading Romeo and Juliet it's a good book, but in some parts it's boring, I might just get a new book at the library after Evie and I go to the theater. Class was boring today so I just texted Evie when Mrs. Key wasn't looking.
Class finally ended and we went to our last class together, Geometry. Afterwards, I went back to my locker to exchange books for my next class, when I heard the click of high heels walking down the hall. Oh crap I thought to myself. I knew Claire would be right behind me when I turned around, so I tried to go as slow as possible hoping she'll leave. But, I knew she wouldn't, this is part of her routine, and she looks forward to this moment every day. Making my life horrible is what brings her pleasure; she can't just leave me alone for one day. I turn around slowly to face her and the robot Barbie's trying not to show my fear, but I know a little bit seeps into the expression on my face.
"Hey, Dragon Face!" Claire snickered.
"Um, h-hi," I stuttered.
"Awww, is little Haven gonna cry?" She said in a baby voice.
"N-no! I'm sick of you guys torturing me, making my life a living hell. You guys are jerks!" I said, my voice shaking.
"Oooh, look it here girls someone put their big girl pants on!" The robots laughed at that one. I could feel tears gather in my eyes, blurring my vision. The tardy bell rang and any bystanders went off to class.
"Come on girls; let's get out of here," Claire said walking over to me. "See you tomorrow Dragon Face!" Then she knocked all my books to the grounds and kicked them. "Oops, you dropped something!" After that she walked away and the robots followed, laughing.
