I watched as Claire and her clique walk off to class, as I bend down and pick up my books. I let the tears fall messing up my makeup, but I cry everyday so I always bring mascara with me. I heard footsteps coming closer and closer until I saw a pair of tennis shoes in front of me. I looked up and saw a boy who looked new, so I quickly wiped my tear-stained face and stood up. He had brown hair that fell in his eyes just right. His eyes were hazel and he was tan from the summer, like me. He was wearing a navy blue Hollister t- shirt that conformed to his body, and a pair of black board shorts. He was the kind of guy that every girl would go crazy about, including me and I never noticed cute guys, but I sure noticed him.

“Um, hi.' I said awkwardly.

‘Are you okay? You look like you've been crying," Handsome Guy said.

“Yeah, I'm fine," I retorted. “Are you new here?” I said in a softer tone.

“Uh, yeah. I'm Levi, you are?" He said, holding his hand out.

"I'm Haven," I say, shaking his hand.

“Pretty name. Do you know where Miss. Riley's science class is?'

"I'm heading there now," I say starting down the hall. He caught up with me and asked “Why were you crying earlier?" I did not want to hear that question.

“I’d rather not answer that question," I replied tears threatening to fall.

“Oh, okay. Well, um, you ask me questions!" He said laughing.

"I don't even know you," I answer matter-of-factly.

“That’s why you ask me questions, silly!" Levi exclaimed.

"Well, questions will have to wait," I say stepping into the classroom.

“Miss. Scott, I hope you have a reasonable explanation for being ten minutes late to my class!" Miss. Riley shouts.

“I’m her explanation," Levi says, stepping out from behind me. Which he really doesn't have to do 'cause he's like a foot taller than me.

“So, you are Mr. Levi Brooks?" She asks, curiosity clear in her eyes.

"That's me!' He exclaims, smiling.

“Well both of you take your seats, we are starting our energy unit," she says handing us our worksheets. We take our seats, which are by each other. Miss. Riley starts teaching and I try to pay attention, but I can feel Levi staring at me. Every time I catch him out of the corner of my eye, my stomach gets tangled up in knots. I've never had that kind of feeling about anyone, boys never notice me so I never notice them. Class went by slow but, finally the bell rang and I didn't see Levi again until lunch.
