We stayed at the theater for another thirty minutes, looking over our scripts. Then, we went to the car and drove to Ice Cream Palace, my favorite ice cream place, and went inside. The flavor of the day was superman, which I hate, but Evie loves it.
"What do you want?" The lady at the counter asked rudely.
"I'll have two scoops of superman ice cream on a waffle cone," Evie said all hyper, and she hasn't even had any ice cream yet! You could see by the way the lady looked at Evie she was very annoyed by her friendliness.
"I'll have one scoop of chocolate in a bowl, and can I have whipped cream on that?" I ask. "With a cherry on top!" I add quickly. The lady just glares at me, which I'm assuming is because she has to do more work but do I really care? No. I look over at Evie who is almost done with her ice cream and her lips are blue.
"And you?" The lady asks Levi, handing me my ice cream.
"Um...I'll have one scoop of mint chocolate chip and one scoop of chocolate, on a waffle cone," He tells her.
"Okay, that will be $9.21." Each of us gives her three bucks and Evie gives her the twenty-one cents. Then we walk outside to play mini golf.

After we play mini golf we went back to the car and I finished my ice cream.
"Wow, you take forever to eat just one scoop of ice cream!" Levi tells me.
"Well it's not my fault I'm a slow eater!" I say.
"Okay sure," Levi chuckles.
"Hey Levi, where do you live?" Evie asks, interrupting our argument.
"I live on Watergate Avenue. You can't miss it, it's right next to this house with a white picket fence," he says. My stomach feels like my food is wrestling with each other, realization sinks in. I, Haven Scott, live next to the hottest guy at school, Levi Brooks.
"Whoa, that's creepy!" Evie says.
"Why?" Levi asks suspiciously.
"Cause you live right next door to me," I tell him, trying not to show the excitement in my voice.
"Oh, well hi neighbor," Levi smiles at me and shakes my hand. His small gesture sends tingles up my arm, and I blush. Many thoughts start running in my head and the walls start feeling like their closing in on me.
"Um Evie, I think I'll walk home, since you probably have to get ready for our sleepover tonight," I inform her, giving her a desperate look.
"Oh yeah, I forgot its Friday! Well okay I guess I'll see you later then." Evie said winking at me, which was weird. I get out of the car and Levi follows.
"I'll walk with you, so Evie doesn't have to go drop me off, go home, and then come back again."
I nod my head slowly in understanding. "Uh...Okay. Bye Evie!" I wave to her, and Levi and I start walking home. After a couple moments of awkward silence Levi says, "You never got to ask me those questions," I look up at him for a moment, then back down at my feet.
"I forgot," I say quietly.
"Well, what would you like to know about me?" He asks.
After I ask all my questions I now know that Levi moved here from Wisconsin, with his parents and younger brother. His favorite color is navy blue, same as mine, his favorite food pizza, typical, his birthday is October 12, and he is sixteen. After that, he asks me questions, except anything about the accident, and I tell him that I have lived in Utah my entire life. My favorite color is also navy blue, my favorite food is lasagna. My birthday is December 16, and I am fifteen. After the question session we start walking down our street. When we get to my house I ask him if he wanted to come in and play video games, since my dad's not home, he's never home, most of the time I stay home alone. My dad is a surgeon so he's always at the hospital. Levi and I go inside and I get to Dr. Peppers from the fridge. Then we sit on the couch and I turn on the TV. I put a good amount of space between us, even though I would love to snuggle up right next to him. We end up not playing video games and just do our homework and talk about random stuff.
When we were done with our homework it was almost eight and Evie would be here soon.
"Uh, Evie's going to be here soon, but you can stay if you want and eat pizza with us." I don't even know why I just invited him to stay. I mentally smack myself for being stupid, I told myself after my mom died that I did not deserve happiness, and right now I'm happy, not good.
"Sure, I just have to go over to my house and tell my parents." He said getting off the couch.
"Okay, I'm gonna call and order. Is there any specific kind of pizza you like?"
"No, anything you get should be fine," He replied walking out the door. After he left I called Papa Johns and ordered half cheese, half pepperoni.
When I got off the phone I heard a car door slam, which leads me to think that Evie is here. Every Friday Evie sleeps over 'cause she know my dad works late on weekends, and she doesn't want me to be lonely. She walks in the door, without knocking, carrying her book bag.
"Hey, I'm here!" She yelled as if I wasn't a mere 5 feet away from her, and sat on the couch.
"Hi, I just ordered pizza and Levi should be back any minute, he just had to tell his parents he was over here." I tell her.
"Wait, you mean the guy we hung out with today, the hottie?"
"Uh...Yeah the 'hottie', who else would I be talking about?" I ask suspiciously.
"Never mind. What are the plans for tonight?"
"Well-" I was cut off by my phone ringing. "Hold on," I tell her. I answer the phone and hear my fathers' voice on the other end.
"Hello? Haven, I have to stay at the hospital tonight, so I won't be home until around noon tomorrow." He said.
"Uh that's fine, Evie's spending the night anyway, so I'll be fine. Did you know we have new neighbors?" I ask.
"No, I didn't . I have to go Haven, see you tomorrow, love you, bye."
"Love you too, bye Dad." I hang up the phone and turn to Evie.
"Well?" She asks.
"My dad won't be home until tomorrow around noon."
I hear the front door open and a few seconds later Levi walks into the living room.
"Hey!" Evie says looking up from examining her nails.
"Hi! My mom says I can stay until whenever," He told us.
"Awesome! Okay, I know this may seem boring but, can we practice lines for Romeo and Juliet?" I ask.
"That's not boring, besides I need to get my lines down if I want to be Romeo," He said winking at me. I felt my cheeks heat up and turn away, not wanting him to see me blush.
"And I need to practice being Lady Montegue," Evie added.
"Wait, you don't want to play Juliet's mom?" I ask putting my hand on my chest, dramatically, trying to look hurt.
"I was going to, but she doesn't have as many line as Romeo's mom. You know how I love the spotlight!"
"If you wanted to be in the spot why don't you just try out for Juliet?" Levi asks her.
"Um, hello, do I look like I wanna kiss you? No offence." She replied.
"When someone says 'No offence' I take offence!" He joked.
"Well sorry but I know someone who wants to put their lips on yours way more than I do!" She exclaimed, looking over at me, which caused me to blush (again).
"Well okay," I said trying to change the subject. "Lets practice!"
