As soon as the car parked I got out of the car and went into the theater. I knew they would talk about me, but I didn't care. Everyone at school knew what happened so he would probably find out sooner or later. I sat down in the back row and put my iPod away.
When Mr. Reese, the director/teacher, saw me he said, "Miss. Scott please join us in the front two rows!"
I got up and moved to the second row and plastered a smile on my face. Right when I sat down I heard Evie and Levi come in. Evie led Levi to the second row where I was sitting and sat down next to me.
“Miss .Lynn would you introduce us to your friend?" Mr. Reese asked Evie, gesturing towards Levi.
“Oh, um... this is Levi Brooks," She tells him.
“Well it's nice of you to join us Levi!" Mr. Reese exclaims.
“Thank you, sir." Levi says.
“Call me Mr. Reese, sir sounds so old." Mr. Reese laughs. He was right 'sir' did sound old for him, considering he was probably in his late twenties.
“So, as most of you know we will be putting on a new production for the end of fall. We will be putting on…" He paused for dramatic effect. “Romeo and Juliet!" Everyone cheered and Mr. Reese started handing out scripts. When I got my script I looked over it and laughed at the cheesiness of it, everyone turned to look at me, so I covered my face with my script.
“Auditions will be held in two days, that should be long enough to memorize the part you want," Mr. Reese tells us.
I turn to Evie and Levi, who are looking over their scripts.
“Um...guys?" They look over at me. "I'm sorry I acted out earlier, it's just I felt like Levi was intruding, sorry Levi."
“It’s okay, I understand. Evie told me, I'm sorry," He looked at me sympathetically, which I hate.
“It wasn't your fault, but I don't like to talk about it, so....."
“Oh yeah, sorry. So, are you going to audition?" He asks.
“Um...maybe. Are you? Or do you think acting is to girly for you?"
“I was thinking of auditioning for the part of Romeo. Will you be my Juliet?" He asks, as he reaches over and kisses my hand. I quickly draw my hand away from his lips.
Do you really want to kiss him?
“First, that line was really cheesy,” He laughs. “And second, I will consider being your Juliet."
Did you seriously just agree to be his Juliet? You are SO stupid! My inner self told me.
”Guys, you know there are kissing scenes in the play, right? I think there are more than four." Evie informs us. I can feel my face turning red and I catch a glance of Levi and see that his face is a little red, too. “But, since the original play is really long and ours is only an hour, there will probably only be one kiss," She adds quickly after seeing our faces.
I see Levi breathe a sigh of relief which makes me happy 'cause I am as nervous as he is if we do get the part. I am very unsure if I want to kiss him or not, plus it will be in front of hundreds of people, since we have a big theater. I haven’t even had my first kiss, yet.
“So, what do you guys want to do after this?" Evie asks us.
“Go out for ice cream!" Levi answers like a little kid. I laugh and smile at him.
