Chapter 10

(Tyler's POV)

I slowly open my eyes, trying to recall the night before. Everything was blurry, all I could remember was crying, Josh, and the stars...

What happened?

Then it hit me, I had poured my heart out to him... I hadn't done the before, but with him it was different. It just seemed easy to be open, like I didn't NEED to hide anything. Because he would protect me, he would support me.

I sat up slowly, letting the sleep wash away. I check my phone seeing that it is 10:26 am, a lot earlier than I'd expect for staying up so late. I stand up walking into my bathroom to go pee, and brush my teeth. I look into the mirror and see myself, for once I see myself. Not a different version of me, but me.

I walk back into my room to grab my phone, 'Josh likes coffee... Maybe we can get coffee if he's up...?" I think to myself.

Tyler: Hey Josh, if you're up we can go to this coffee shop I know. You might like it.

I press send, placing my phone on the table next me to. Going to sit on my couch and watch TV, but before I could sit down there was a buzz from my phone. I quickly grab it opening it, seeing its a text from Josh.

Josh: Let's do it, just give me 10 minutes to get ready.

I smile at my phone, he always looked nice, but causal.

Tyler: ok cool. See you soon.

I put my phone down, realizing that I'm not dressed at all. I'm only wearing some old basketball shorts, I quickly go to my room. Opening my closet to find a good shirt to wear, I sorted through my closet then I saw my light blue short sleeve button up shirt. I went to my dresser and pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans, quickly putting those on. Buttoning up my shirt I went to the living room where my black vans were, I put those on then decided to go to Josh's.

I walked across the hall, lightly tapping on his door. It only took a few seconds until He opened the door, with a big goofy smile on his face.

"Hey Tyler." He stepped out of the apartment, making sure it was locked. "Ready?" I smiled asking him.

He nodded, we began to walk down the stairs to go to my car. I was driving since Josh didn't know where I was taking him, I may not like coffee much but I'd love to see Josh happy. And I heard the coffee shop was really good, so why not; what coffee shop doesn't have tea though?

On the way to the shop we sang along to what was on the radio, not trying at all. Josh would pretend he was playing the drums, and I was the lead singer. It was really fun, I loved spending time with him.

Parking the car, you could already tell Josh was excited. He was bouncing, like he needs coffee.

I began laughing, he gave me a confused look then started laughing too. He was laughing because of me and I was laughing even harder because of him, we sat in the car for a few minutes trying to calm our selves.

Once we were calm we got out of the car, going to the new coffee shop. Josh had the biggest smile on his face.

(Josh's POV)

Tyler took me to a coffee shop, I guess he remembered that I like coffee. Wow... It may not be much remembering that I like coffee, but no one has gone out of their way to go get some with me.

"Hey Tyler." I say quietly, he turns to me, "yeah?"

"Thank you." I say barely above a whisper, he smiles and nods. He walked over to me, throwing his arm over my shoulder. "Anytime Josh." He sighed, then took a few steps forward bringing me along.

We walk into the shop, there were quite a few people but it wasn't over flowing. It was nice to not worry about a bunch of people looking at me, well people did still look, just not as many. Tyler took his arm off of me, which made me cold.

I liked how close he was...

We walk to the counter, the clerk smiled at us. "Hi. What can I get you too?" She said sweetly, I already knew exactly what I wanted. "Can I have a black coffee, and a blueberry bagel please?" I asked the girl.

"Sure thing! And what about you?" She turned to Tyler, "oh uh, I'll have a green tea and a cinnamon roll. Please?" The girl nods pressing buttons and then looks back up, "Your total is $15.48. OH I totally forgot! Do you want the bagel toasted and do you want the cinnamon roll warmed up?" She says frantically. I chuckle a bit.

"That'd be nice if you did." I smile, Tyler nods, "could you please?" He said quietly. I pull out my wallet and I see Tyler about to speak up, I pull out a $20 fast.

"But I still owe you from the CD, we didn't get Taco Bell.. Let me pay." He whines a bit, a smile. "But you took me here and it's my treat. Come on it was a gift it's fine. You'll pay me back later. Ok?" I give the girl the money, she laughs at us.

"You two are amazing friends it's cute." She smiled giving my my change, I smile back at her. 'Amazing friends' those words echoed in my Mind.

We waited for a minute or two before the girl handed us our drinks and food, I was looking around for a place to sit and I saw one nice spot. It was by the window and had two chairs, it was perfect.

I pointed it out to Tyler, I started walking towards it.

I took a sip of my coffee, which was in one of those disposable cups. I thought it was cool when coffee shops gave you actual mugs but not all of them do that I guess.

Tyler and I sat there for a while taking about random things sipping on our drinks, slowly eating. Then Tyler random a question.

"What do you want in life?" He said, staring down at his cinnamon roll. I was a bit taken back, "What do you mean?" I asked, he looked up at me
"You know like in the future what do you want." He stated, I thought for a moment.

"I guess I want to find my true love.... Grow old and just be happy, ya know?" I said, not sure what he wanted. He was nodding slowly, "Yeah, I get it.

You'll find the one.

I know you will, I promise." He smiled at me. I began to get flustered, 'But I think I already found who I'm looking for...' I thought, I looked up at Tyler. Looking at his face, his eyes were sparkling. He was happy, it was so different from when I first looked into them. They were so dull, so.. Sad.

I'm glad I got to see him change, a sad depressed guy living alone. Now, I can say I've seen Tyler Joseph laugh, smile and be carefree.

We sat there and talked, laughing, joking About stupid things. Then I realized our drinks were cold, so I got up to throw them away. When I came to sit back down Tyler said he was going to the bathroom. I looked at the table and saw a napkin, 'forgot to throw this away' I thought sliding to me, then I looked at it. The napkin had words on it. It said.

'You're my best frien Josh.
-Tyler'

I smiled, folding it carefully and placing into my pocket. Tyler came back, he had a grin on my face. "Ready?" He said, I nodded and began walking to the car. Before Tyler went to the drivers side, I grabbed him and pulled him into a hug.

"You're my best frien Tyler and I love you."
