I have to say the title of this chapter is a very bad joke. You'll see when you read it. muahaha

Chapter Six - Breaking News
It didn't take a minute after I got home for my mom to burst into the living room, jumping and squealing like a mad woman.
"Whoa, calm down." I told her and she took a deep breath, trying to do what I said.
"Is it true?" She asked me and I raised my eyebrows in confusion, waiting for her to elaborate.
"What exactly?" I asked when mom didn't say anything.
"That you spent the night with Brody, of course." Mom answered rolling her eyes as if I was supposed to know what she was talking about.
"How do you know?" I asked her. I didn't see her on the streets and there was no way she saw me at Brody's house.
"I see you've forgotten how gossip travels fast here in Shelby." Mom said, placing a hand on my shoulder and giggling. Yeah, and she was right. "So it is true, hmm?" She asked and winked at me, making me scowl in disgust.
"What? No!" I waved her off, shaking my head no. How could she think that?
"But you just said..." Mom started saying, losing her enthusiasm.
"I did spend the night with Brody. But not in the... sexual... way... you're implying." I told her trying to fing the less worst words.
"Nothing happened? Not even a..." Mom started saying and I placed my hands on both of my ears.
"Do not complete this sentence, please!" I beeged her. Whatever got out from her mouth would be too much traumatizing. I know mom well enough to know she doesn't think before talking. And even though I'm a big girl, it doesn't do any good hearing my mom talking about sex.
"Fine." Mom raised her hands in surrender and I sighed in relief. "I just thought you two would make a good couple." She told me and I almost coughed in shock. Brody and I? A couple?
Correction: Brody and anyone! Couldn't work.
"You clearly thought wrong." I assured mom who sighed in frustration and lef the room, leaving me alone.
I decided to take a shower, which I really needed, and headed to my room.
It looked just like I left it and I smiled to myself, thinking of all the nights I spent there reading and listening to music.
After I was clean and tidy, I felt inspired enough to try and write a chapter. Finally!
Writing at home wasn't possible though. Mom kept showing up behind me, sometimes bringing me food, other giving me opinions.
Either way, I couldn't focus. And then I remembered how I used to go to a place a few miles away from home when I needed time to think. Or when I just needed to get away from Percy and his loud friends, meaning Brody.
I arrived in the abandoned farmland where was a lake surrounded by old trees. Through the years, the trees got bigger and now the place looked completely different from what I remembered. But it still had the same peaceful atmosphere.
The light breeze coming to my face made my hair fly and the whether was cooler than in the town.
I sat by the shadow of a tree and opened my laptop that thankfully was full charged.
The words started to fly out of my head and to the screen instantly and it felt good how the story was moving forwards.
This new book was not very similar to the first one I wrote. It was about a young girl travelling through the country trying to find her grandparents with the help of some letters she received from an anonymous friend.
