Chapter Seven - Just a Guy

[not proofread]

It was still my second day of 'medical rest' and I already wanted to pull my hair off.

My ankle was much better though I was still using crutches.

The good thing is that I had a reason to stay in my room working on my book. Jeanette was most relieved with that. I was able to send her some completed chapters and now I was waiting for the review on them

If they didn't like them, then I would be screwed. I hate when the editor and the publisher try to change my story.

They always come with the 'it doesn't sell' and 'take this off, add this' statements.

And I just can't take it. But it all pays off in the end. Having my work published. The paper book with the bright cover and the palpable pages. All of it.

"Hey lil sis." Percy showed up in my room wearing a gray t-shirt completely dirty with grass and mud.

"Hey, how's been the flower shop?'' I asked, realizing he had mud on his cheek.

"When you get back on your feet, you should go there. You'll like it." My brother answered me and I rolled my eyes in his silly joke. He then stepped closer and sat by my side on the bed.

"I'll go there. See if my brother is doing a good job." I teased him and he showed me his tongue like a little boy.

"I'm the best there is." He assured me crossing his arms against his chest,

"I'm sure there's ton of girls crawling at you feet, flower boy. But right now, you're covered in mud, so I'd be glad if you didn't get my bed full of your dirt." I poked at him then pushed him off of my bed.

Percy chuckled and jumped back on my bed, hugging my waist and tickling me to death. I squealed like a little girl and tried to get him off of me but due to my hurt ankle, I wasn't even able to move correctly.

"Am I supposed to be interrupting something?" We stopped at the sound of a voice and both looked at who was standing by my door.

Percy gave up and jumped out of the bed, but not before pointing a finger at me as if to warn me this wasn't over.

I sighed in relief and looked back at Brody, resting his shoulder on the doorframe and smirking at me.

"Thanks." I told him still out of breath. Percy let out a chuckle and after patting Brody on the shoulder, left the room.

"I know I'm awesome but you don't need to thank me for my awesomeness." Brody told me grinning like an idiot and I groaned, rolling my eyes at him.

It was the first time I saw him since incident with my ankle, yet he was already being a pain in the ass.

"You do know there's mud all over you bed, right?" He asked me, when I didn't say anything and stepped closer, then kneeled down beside me on the bed.

"No shit, Sherlock." Yeah, I could see it very clearly. Percy made sure that my sheet was as dirty as his clothes.

"Come on, then." He said and got up, yanking the sheets from me.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked him, sitting up and trying to pull it back but with no success.

"You don't want to be covered in mud, now do you?" He asked and immediately stopped himself, realizing for the first time why I was covering myself in the first place. "Oh..."
