Chapter Eleven - You don't need perfection to be perfect

[not proofread]

"Where the hell are you taking me, Collins?" I asked when I tripped on a rock and almost fell to the ground.

"Don't be a pain in the ass, Princess. We're almost there." Brody answered me and sighed in frustration, placing a hand on my back. "I won't let you fall." He said as a promise and I nodded, admitting defeat.

We've been walking around the woods for more than half an hour now and Brody didn't want me to know where we were headed to. This was supposed to be our first date but it came out more like a work out session.

"And we're almost there." Brody said with a wide and excited grin. I raised my brow at him, wanting to see what was so exciting about walking during the hottest hour of the day.

"You said that at least four times now." I reasoned and he chuckled, kissing the back of my head. "And you could have warned me to wear pants. I'm all itchy on the legs right now." I complained one more time as we continued walking while I tried not to hit my head on one of the many branches of the trees around.

"Is this you PMSing? Because I've never heard you complain about walking through the woods." Brody stated and I rolled my eyes shoving him to the side with my hands.

Brody stumbled a little and laughed making me smile.

Since the day I spend with him at his home when we talked about what happened when I first left, I don't think I've seen him laugh that much. And I must admit, his laugh is one of the greatest sounds I've ever heard.

"Are you done snapping?" He asked holding my wrist and making me turn around to look at him.

We were now standing in the middle of a clearer and Brody had his trademark smirk on his face.

"Yes." I muttered and his grin widened.

"Good, cause we're here." He stated and I urged to look aroud, trying to find a reason for us to be in the middle of nowhere.

"Really?" I asked him skeptically when I realized there was nothing there.

"Almost. Come here." He told me and started pulling me with him.

It was just when we were a few feet away from where we were before that I started paying attention to the background sound.

It was water.

"Wait, is there a..." I started asking but wasn't able to finish when I saw a lake and a waterfall. The water was limpid blue and there were rocks surrounding the lake as the sun with its rays made the water reflects some shades of orange and red.

"What do you think?" Brody asked by my side with an expectant look at his face. I could only look at him and smile, feeling my heart skip a beat when he realized my reaction was a good one and smiled back at me.

"It's beautiful." I told him truthfully, waiting for him to pull me closer and kiss me. But of he course he didn't do that.

"Wanna go for a swim?" Brody asked me with a wicked grin and before I could run away from him, he was already carrying me one his arms and jumping on the lake.
