After our little joke with Andrew. We hurriedly went down the road to avoid that eagle. Everyone was still laughing at what was said. It was kinda scary on how we showed no remorse, but it's over now. The road stretched for miles without an end in sight. There's been a lot of empty cars so someone must of looted them all, and Andrew didn't look like he had much. Whoever was at the army base much of went out here.
"What's that?" Asked Trevor. We all looked were he was pointing. It was another sign with really small writing on it. We started walking closer. I was walking up to the sign when Derek threw me back.
"Look out!" He yelled. he grabbed a stick nearby and stuck it into a device.
"Bear traps." Trinity said.
"Where the heck did he get bear traps?" I asked.
"Must be at the military base." Derek said. He picked up the sign and handed it to me
"Arrogant ass" I looked at the sign and it said.
Watch out ;)
"Let's go" Trinity said. Then we were off again. Walking without a stop. It seemed like it wouldn't stop getting hotter. As the sun rose the more I wished I was in the hotel. The farther we went the more dead bodies we seen. Bear traps and looks like land mines were the deaf of them. Whoever this guy is, He's dangerous. I hope Trinity knows what we're getting into.
"What was that?" Trevor asked stopping.
"What was what?" Asked Trinity. Then a horn in the distance made us turn.
"That's a big truck." Said Derek.
"Um. Yes. Are they going to stop?" I said as the truck was inching closer.
"No their speeding up. Run!" Trinity yelled. We took off in the down the road. As a I looked I saw men hanging from the side of the truck guns ready.
"Trin! We need a plan!" I yelled sprinting past everyone.
"And I got one!" She yelled pulling out a bomb.
"Why didn't you tell me you brought those!" Derek yelled.
"Shush!" She said handing everyone. We all stopped and turned. The truck was only half of a football field away now. The people hanging from the sides started to shoot at as. We stood still as it kept coming. The people were missing every shot.
"NOW!" screamed Trinity. The bombs went flying towards the truck. I saw the driver swerve and went flying off the road and slammed into a tree. Everyone fell off the side. We picked up our guns and ran towards them. Picking them off as fast as possible. The man driving the truck jumped out. Blood rolling down his face. Then I noticed what he was wearing. A skull bandana, with dried blood on it.
"What. You think there wasn't more of us" he said smiling. I screamed and aimed my gun at him.
"I'll kill you just like the last of you guys!" I yelled.
"Go head. Isn't going to save your friends." He said laughing. I put a bullet in his head as Trinity came around the corner. I threw my gun to the ground.
"What's wrong?" Trinity asked.
"These people. They killed the group I was with. My friends, and now I think their going to the hotel. I thought we killed all of them but.." I trailed off.
"Ok Tyler. Whatever these people did, and if they are going to the hotel. It doesn't matter. We need to go this Army Base." Trinity said.
"Are you just going to leave your people to die?" I asked.
"No. I'm sure they can handle themselves. Besides if we went back, we probably wouldn't have enough firepower to take them out." She said walking to the front of the truck.
"We should at least try! Your acting like your people mean nothing to you!" I screamed.
"Right now. The people we're with right now is what is important. Like I said. Im sure everyone at the hotel will be fine. They know what their doing. Also, this truck looks like it's working still. We could use it to get to the army base faster, and it will be easier to carry all the supplies." She said jumping into the truck and turning the key. The engine fired up almost instantly. She tried to back up but it was stuck. I sighed. I knew I wasn't going to change her mind. She has a point but Jillian is still at the hotel. I can't let her get killed.
"Fine. We do this as quick as possible. This man at the army base seems sketchy in the first place but, I think we can get in." I said. Everyone nodded. We spent at least an hour getting the truck unstuck. Wasting time already. We finally got the truck on the road when Trevor opened the back.
"Guys." He said. Everyone ran to the back. There was a bunch of guns and food. I looked at Trinity.
"We're still going." She said throwing are bag in the back. Me and Trevor gave eachother a look. The "I really want to strangle her look." then we started laughing. Derek and her looked at us.
"Nothing let's just go." I said still laughing. We hopped in and headed towards the army base as there was a gunshot in that direction...
