The Second Test

When I came too Trinity was already back up, Derek was helping her, and Trevor was sitting on the ground next to me. I looked around and saw a man walking. He was in full armor and was carrying a big gun. I sat up and Trevor jumped and looked at me. I motioned my head toward the man and Trevor stood up. He helped me up and I looked down. My shirt was completely destroyed. I had a lot of blood on my chest and a lot of cuts. Again, nothing to bad, but it still hurt. He walked up and was holding bandages. Then he went to start putting them on me. I kinda moved back.

"Do you want these to heal or not?" He said. I let him put the bandages on and everyone awkwardly stood there. After he was done he backed up.

"So your done?" I asked.

"No dip Sherlock. That's free by the way. Just because that was freaking epic. I'm surprised you guys didnt die. Anyways, that was only the first test." He said. His voice was very muffled from the helmet he was wearing.

"Um, the helmet please." Trinity said motioning to him.

"Oh right." He said taking it off. He had short blond hair and bright green eyes. He was at least in his 20s or younger.

"Okay. What do you mean that was only the first test." Derek said sternly.

"You guys know how to handle your selves. That's obvious, but I'd like to put you through some more stuff." He said.

"Whoa hey we just.." Derek went to say until Trinity punched him in the mouth. The man burst out laughing

"Shut up. Sorry about him. Anyways do you got a name?" Trinity asked.

"Oh yeah. Forgot names were a thing for a moment. Axel, and you?" Axel said. You could tell he was very energetic and like a child. Guess some people can't even grow up when the world ends.

"I'm Trinity, this is Derek, Tyler, and Trevor." She said pointing to each of us. I waved.

"Well anyways! This next text I set up over here." Axel said starting to walk. We started following. Derek was rubbing his face where Trinity hit him. I couldn't help but look at all the scar tissue.

"I got to pee." Trevor said awkwardly. Axel pointed over at a bush. So, Trevor started walking that way. After a few seconds he came running back up. I just laughed. He playfully punched me in the shoulder.

"Well here we are!" He exclaimed. We walked up to a path. It had a wall with rope on it and barbed wire on the ground. Training course I'm guessing.

"So we just have to run this?" Derek asked.

"Yes! Also don't die by landmines and to not get caught by Brittany." He said with a smile.

"Who's Brittany?" I asked nervously.

"Oh, uh my lion!" He yelled. Then a roar came from a cage.

"Why!" Derek yelled. Another roar came from the cage.

"Cause why not! I trained her how to run this course and where all the landmines are. So, go quick. I'll be letting her out when you guys go over the wall. No going through the woods and no killing her." He explained.

"How do you expect us to out run a lion." Trinity said.

"Okay I set up little booby traps to slow her down. You just have to figure out where they are." He said.

"We're going to die." I said looking at Trinity.

"We can do it." She replied walking up to a panted starting line.

"You may need these." Axel said giving us pistol's.

"This is insane!" Trevor screamed.

"Shut up and let's do this." Trinity said throwing her assault rifle down.

"I don't think I can even run after that Rhino thing." I said.

"I said we're doing this!" Yelled Trinity. We all kinda sighed and threw all the guns we had down. I put the pistol in my holder and got ready to run.

"Three, two, one, GO!" Axel yelled shooting off into the air. We took off and dove under the barbed wired. I took my time saving my breath till after the wall. I heard the lion roar. I was terrified. I couldn't believe I'm doing this. It's like an insane "Run with the bulls". We ran up to the wall and there was just two ropes. Trinity and Trevor were already going up. Me and Derek waited for them to hop over the wall. Then we heard the gate open.

"Oh my god! Go!" I yelled grabbing the rope. I took a quick look at the lion. It was a lot bigger then one I've ever seen, and a lot faster. It didn't seem to have really mutated. Just got a lot stronger. I saw it jump right over the barbed wire as I hopped off the wall. Then I saw Trinity by a button. I saw a big cannon with a huge rock in it. I saw the Lions feet as it jumped over the wall. Trinity slammed the button and the rock hurtled right towards it. The lion went flying with a grunt of pain. We took off down the trail. It headed into the woods. A bunch of land mines started showing up. I kept almost going right on top of them, but I kept saving myself. We heard the lion come running again. We passed the landmines and came to a bunch of tires. We put one foot in front of another. I looked behind me and saw the lion running right through all the landmines without touching any of them. I turned back around and noticed a bunch of targets up in the trees. I pulled out the pistol and started shooting them. Everyone else did the same. A bunch of logs started swinging from the trees. We hurried off the tires as some came flying by. The lion stopped and looked for a way to get through. I just kept running and we came to another wall. This one only had one rope. Trinity went, then Trevor, then Derek. I started and heard the lion.

"Of course." I said. I hopped over and hopped for another cannon but nope. Then Trinity pulled me back and pointed at the gigantic hole in the ground. They moved a bunch of planks out of the way that revealed a huge hole. The lion jumped right over the wall into the hole. Everyone moved the planks back and we all the across it. We saw Axel standing at the end of the trail with a line marked finished. We came huffing and puffing up.

"Okay. Well that was unexpected." Axel said.

"That was easier then I thought it was going to be." I said wheezing. Axel laughed.

"Come on I have food. I like you guys. So, I'll give you whatever, but right now is dinner." He said walking. We slowly followed him still wheezing...
