Reader's POV

The silence in the room could be cut with a knife like butter. Mr. Makara had decided to invite him into the living room so we could discuss the new issue. I already texted Mrs. F about what is going on. She texted back that she would come over to help settle this but Jenni was sick. I didn't mind. Jenni needs her more than me. I told her that and assured her that things will be fine. I honestly didn't mind Mrs. F not coming. I'm not one of those foster kids that gets upset over not getting as much attention as my foster siblings. That's one of the reasons Mrs. F loved me and why she's been my foster mom the longest. She understands somewhat how I think and she's the kindest woman I've ever met. And Jenni was the little sister I always wanted. She loved me like I'm her real sister, just like I love her. Whenever there's a storm, she would always come into my room at night and sleep with me. She doesn't even ask if she can. I know she hates thunder and I'll always comfort her. She loves to brag about me to her friends, saying I'm her queen ninja sister since I have experience in fighting and self defense, she admires that. I even teach her simple little things for if a bully tries to hurt her. She can do simple blocks and what not, stuff to the bully's attacks against themselves. She doesn't actually harm them so she can't get in trouble. Sorry, I'm getting off topic.

Anyway, Mrs. F knows I'll be fine. Now, here we are, Gamzee holding my hand (possibly so I don't get up and punch him in his face) while we sat on the couch. Mr. Makara was sitting in the light purple chair closest to me. Kurloz was sitting cross-legged on the floor next to him. He was in the other chair opposite Mr. Makara. If looks could kill, the fire filled glare I'm giving him would've turned him to ash. He just sat there, shifting nervously under my glare. Gamzee was rubbing my hand with his thumb to try and calm me down. Mr. Makara had his chin sitting on his hands, giving him a questioning look. Kurloz was just in his own little world, sketching in his notepad. From what I could see of it, he was just doing doodles of people. They looked like Gamzee's friends but older. I'm guessing their older siblings. I wanted to ask him but knew this wasn't the time for it. I wanted so badly right now to yell and scream at the nervous boy but also beat the shit out of him. How dare he ignore me for 10 years and then pop up out of nowhere saying he's going to "take me home." He has no fucking right. After my parents got rid of me, he refused to take to me. For 10 fucking years. I want answers and I'm going to get them.

I gave out a frustrated sigh and broke the silence, deciding to first explain who the boy is to the Makaras. "I know you guys are curious as to who this boy is and why he's here for me. I'm not sure exactly WHY either but we're gonna find out." I gave the boy a nasty glance as I said the last part. The Makaras gave me a confused look and waited for me to continue. I let out another sigh and explained. "This pathetic excuse for family is my older brother, Charlie. He and I haven't had any contact in 10 years, after our-no, his parents gave me up to be a foster child. As to why he's here, well, I don't know." Charlie flinched when I called him pathetic. Oh, he deserves to be called much much worse but I wanted to be polite in front of the others. He really hasn't changed since he was 15. He did gain some muscles but his looks were still the same. I bet he's still got girls drooling over this piece of shit. I turned my head to him and finally spoke to him. "Exactly why are you here, Charlie? And don't give me that "to take you home" bullshit. Why, after 10 goddamn fucking years, did you show up out of nowhere without so much as an apology or even ask to talk first? Why?! Do you really think I'd forget what happened? Hell fucking no! I will NEVER forget how you left me; ABANDONED ME!!! You let Mom and Dad push me out! You did nothing even though you promised me you'd never let anything bad happen to me! What the fuck happened to that promise, Charlie?! What happened?! Did you agree with them and decided I'm a piece of shit too?! Look at what you guys did to me! Abandoned me for 10 years without so much as an apology! You had better have a good fucking reason as to why you're here or else somebody will get hurt!" At this point, I'm standing and trying to walk over to him but Gamzee has his long arms wrapped around my waist, keeping me in my spot. Charlie looked like he was mad but also on the verge of tears. I don't give a shit. He doesn't deserve my pity. He deserves a good punch in the face.

He looked down at his lap before answering me. His eyes had sadness in them, fear, and hope. I just looked away as he spoke. "I've been looking for you ever since you left, [Y/n]. I looked everywhere for you but Mom and Dad wouldn't tell me where you were. They always knew where you were but never said where. I looked and looked but never found you. Mom and Dad passed away a few months ago, leaving everything to me and Tammy. We miss you, [Y/n]. Not a day has gone by that I've regretted what happened, regretted not helping you. We want you back home. You can finally have your real family back. No more changing schools, no more horrible foster parents and foster homes. A home that will treat you right." I refused to look at him until I heard the last part. That's where I snapped. "'A real home'? I lost my real home when those poor excuses for parents threw me out like a garbage! You have no idea what I've been through for the past few years. I don't care if Tammy misses me. Mom and Dad treated her better than me! I don't care if you miss me! You didn't keep your promise! Mrs. F and Jenni are my family now. They actually love me and treat me like I am their family. Treat me better than how Mom, Dad, and Tammy treated me. Now I suggest you get the fuck out of here before I really lose my temper." I was shaking from how angry I am. Gamzee was struggling to hold me back. Mr. Makara stood up when he saw my anger radiating off of me like waves of heat. Kurloz just sat there, staying out of everything.

Charlie lost all of the sadness and fear in his eyes, only to be replaced with anger as red as mine. He stood and started to leave, but not before he said one last thing. "We will get you back, [Y/n]. We're your real family and you will be with us again." "I'll be part of that family again when hell freezes over and when Gamzee stops fighting with Kurloz." My last comment earned a snicker from Mr. Makara and Gamzee and Kurloz's faces turning red from embarrassment. Charlie just huffed and left. I finally sat down and leaned on Gamzee's shoulder. He kept his arms wrapped around me and laid his head on mine. I was pretty tired from all of this. Mr. Makara left the room, probably to go reheat dinner since this lasted a good hour. Kurloz sat on the other side of the couch and continued doodling when Mr. Makara came in with a few plates. He gave everyone a plate and sat in his chair with his own. "We're just gonna eat in here, give everyone a break for the night." We all nodded and ate our food. It was absolutely delicious. It tastes just like how Mrs. F makes it. I finished my plate and put it on the side table next to me and went back to leaning on Gamzee while he ate. I really was exhausted from tonight. Not even 5 minutes after laying my head down, I fell asleep.

Gamzee's POV

I felt [Y/n] lean her head on my shoulder as I ate. I couldn't help but smile. Tonight was pretty eventful. Something none of us expected. I quickly finished eating and tried to stand to put my plate in the sink when I felt that [Y/n] wouldn't move. Looking down at her, I saw she had fallen asleep. I knew I wouldn't be able to wake her so I was stuck here. Kurloz looked over when he was done and silently chuckled. He reached for my plate and then stood to take [Y/n]'s plate and went to put them in the sink. Dad saw us and smiled. "I guess she's not going anywhere tonight. Call her mom and let her know that [Y/n] fell asleep and is more than welcome to stay here for the night." I nodded and he stood and left the room, saying "goodnight, motherfucker" and heading to bed.

I carefully reached into her jacket pocket and grabbed her phone. It didn't have a screen lock on it so I quickly brought up her contacts and looked for her foster mom. I called her, letting her know what happened and what Dad said. She was relieved [Y/n] didn't go with Charlie and said it was fine to her staying here. I promised her that she will get to school on time and that she'll text her in the morning. After the call finished, I put the phone back and held [Y/n]. She snored lightly and snuggled more into my side. I blushed lightly and smiled. After sitting on the couch with her laying on me for about 15 minutes, I got uncomfortable. Kurloz came in, drying his hands after he washed the dishes, and chuckled again seeing us. He put the towel he was using on his shoulder and signed, 'Are you just gonna sit here all night or carry her to your room so you two can sleep more comfortably?' I sighed, mad I didn't even think of that. Carefully, I put my arms under her legs and shoulders and carried her to my room, bridal style, and laid her on my bed. She shifted a bit until I laid down next to her. She turned to me and snuggled into my side. I wrapped my arm around her and fell asleep after I kissed her forehead.
