Maxx Chapter 1

"Run! He's gaining on us." I told my brothers.

"What happened?" Asher asked.

"I don't know." I said.

     We'd only know Maxx for two months. He told me he was different. I didn't really understand what he meant. It started raining.

"Head for the next shelter." I told my brothers.

     We ran into an old deserted house.

"He told you stay way. He warned you this would happen."

"We weren't gonna leave our little sister alone with some guy she just met." Christopher said.

"Whatever." I said.

     I remember when Maxx first moved here.

"Class this is Maxx he's from California." Ms. Ann said.

"That's far." Asher said.

"Of course it's far Asher." I said.

"No one was talkin' to you Nicole."

"I wouldn't have to say anything if you didn't act stupid."

"Cut it out you two." Ethan said.

"Your brother started it." I told him.

"You three cut it out." Ms. Ann said.

     The bell rang.

"Finally. I'll see you all tomorrow."

"Ms. Ann it's Friday." I said.

"Messing with you and your cousins again made me mess up the days again."

"Sure Ms. Ann. Blame us."

     We all headed to the bus. I was to busy lookin' for my notebook to see Maxx standing by the seat.

"Can I sit here?"

"Sure. Man I must of left it home"

"What?"

"My notebook. don't go anywhere without it."

     The bus came to a stop.

"Encalades, new kid get off." the bus driver said.

     Someone covered my eyes.

"Guess who?" Christopher said.

"Cris." I said.

"You're good at this."

"I know."

"Who's that?"

"That's Maxx."

"That boy getting in that car?"

"Yea. He's new."

     Christopher, Asher, Ethan, and I went home.

"What did you do today?" Asher asked Christopher.

"Nothing."

"Looks like we're gonna have new neighbors." Ethan said.

     We all rushed to the window.

"Is that Maxx?" I asked.

"Can't be." Asher said.

"Well I'm gonna go see."

     Christopher grabbed my arm.

"You're not going out there." he said.
