Chapter 6

"What the hell?!" someone shouted.

We both jolted up and saw some guy standing in the doorway.

"Kendal I can explain." Nicole said.

"Save it. Get the hell out of my sister's bed!" he said.

"So you're Kendal?" I asked.

     I got up and went towards him.

"Not a good idea." he said.

     Then his eyes changed to blue.

"I see there's another demon here."

"How'd you know what I am?"

"Cause I'm one too. Maxx."

"Look it's nice to meet the person who saved my sister, but what the hell are you doing in her bed?"

     I couldn't answer that.

"Is Jack still searching for her?" he asked.

"Yea." Maxx said.

"Then why'd you come for her?"

"Actually I came to visit."

"Why?"

"Cause he's my boyfriend." Nicole said.

"What?"

"You heard right. I missed her too much. I had to come see her." I said.

"Nicole. Kendal. Breakfast." some lady called.

"We'll be down in a minute mom." Kendal shouted. "Sneak back out the same way you came in and use the gate this time." he told me.

     I did exactly that.

"Can I help you?" one of the guards asked.

"I'm here to see Nicole." I said.

"One moment."

     Then he opened the gate. Someone led me to the dinning hall where they were having breakfast. All of them except for Nicole.

"I'm sure you're hungry. Eat something." the lady said.

     I'm guessing that she's Mrs. Lewis

"She doesn't eat breakfast." I said leaning against the doorway.

"Who are you?" Mr. Lewis asked.

     Everyone was looking at me.

"Maxx." I said.

"What are you doing here?"

"I came to see Nicole."

     Mr. and Mrs. Lewis looked at Kendal.

"What?" he asked.

"You're not gonna go mental on him?" his mother asked.

"Sadly no."

"Can I speak to Nicole?" I asked.

"Go ahead." Mr. Lewis said.

     She rose from the table. We walked around the grounds for awhile.

"Nicole I'm leaving today. I'll be back."

"Maxx I wanna come." she said looking at me with those brown eyes of hers.

"Not now. Jack is still looking for you. You're safe here. I promise when this is all over I'll come back for you."
