5 and a half years ago....
It had been a Friday, the weather was beautiful and all I wanted to do was see the love of my life.... how was I supposed to know it'd all go to hell in a hand basket too soon for my liking.

"Blue!" a voice shocks me back into reality. I blink rapidly and look around; quickly realizing I’m in the jewelry store. My eyes focus on the man in front of me. Standing at a decent 6 foot 3 is my best friend’s boyfriend, William Steele.
"Sorry, zoned out there," I mutter before I get back to looking at the engagement rings. Let me explain why I’m here.
My name is Selene Azure Rain, I am 5 foot 9 with soft grey eyes, and butt length curly chest nut colored hair with natural red streaks, however during the winter, my hair darkens and in the summer my hair lightens. I have C-cup breasts and hips to die for, or so I'm told, I am currently 21 years old and I am the official bodyguard of my best friend, Genevieve Grey Deschanel or Scarlett Greyson which is her real name.
While scanning the many rings I start thinking about the events that led me to be shopping on my morning off while Scar was at school.
William and I never got along, he’s always pissed me off to no end but Scar (or should I say Grey) seems to love him so I tolerate him, however lately I've started looking at him as an older brother and he thinks of me as a sister. About a month ago he approached me to ask for her hand in marriage, seeing as I’m the closest thing to family she’s got beside her brother whose off working for my dad, he asked me. After threatening him with every sort of torture known to man, I agreed. He wanted everything to be kept on the down low and requested I don’t tell anyone, not even my own fiancee, Liam, again I agreed however hesitantly.
After a month of planning all Will needed was the ring, so I’m helping pick my best friend’s ring.
"Tell me something," I muse out loud. "Why couldn’t you just come and get the ring, you know damn well if she doesn’t like it, she’ll just drag your ass back and make you get her a new one." The shear fact of that statement made me laugh. He nudges me with his shoulder and laughs.
"I know she will, but I’d like to save the embarrassment and get it right the first time." He grins.
"So you called in the Grey expert." I tease. He snorts loudly, bringing attention to us. I smack him in the back of the head.
"Did Lee ever tell you how he found your ring?" Will asks, I glance down at the ring on my left ring finger and smile.
"He said he felt lost, I imagine about as lost as you were when you walked in," I said, saying what Lee himself had told me. "He said that he didn't know where to start until he heard the woman talking about blue diamonds, so he looked around and found this beauty," I flash my ring. "he said as soon as he saw it he immediately saw my face." I laugh softly before going back to looking for a ring.
I hear him let out a sigh but resumes the search.
I go back to searching making my way to the other side of the store and after a minute of scanning I find it, it screams Grey and I quickly usher Will over and as he looks at the ring a smile curves up over his lips and he nods.
I gesture the sales woman over to me and I point out the ring. She takes it out and hands it to me. The center is a cluster of chocolate diamonds surrounded by interlocking white diamonds on the golden band.
"Are you sure?" He asks me. I smile and I nod.
"Yea, she’s always had a fascination for chocolate diamonds, says it stands out because it’s one of a kind." I murmur admiring the ring, trying to picture her face. I laugh out loud because all I can imagine is her staring at it emotionlessly and saying no simply because of the way he proposes.
