This one shot was inspired by @phanci who wrote the amazing fic blurry face. Although the ending kinda made me want to shove my face into various brick walls, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I loved it. {I swear if moods turns out with them not together I will be sO DISAPPOINTED} but yeah, check it out peops!
Time for the one shot B)
Daniel James Howell.
Diagnosis: Blurry Face.
Let me tell you a story.
My entire life, I've had this... Condition.
I can see everything perfectly fine, 20/20 vision.
Except...
Faces.
Nobody knows why, or how.
The past 25 years of my life, doctor after doctor after doctor would come and go, desperately trying to figure out what was wrong with me.
With my condition came with so many questions.
Why was it just faces I couldn't see?
Why not various parts of the body, or objects all around me??
How could photos and portraits be affected as well, even though they aren't even really people, just pieces of paper with a face on it?
Test after test, reckless nights and days, and not one person could figure it all out.
At a point in my life, I accepted it.
I accepted my condition, I accepted all of the blurry faces.
In a way, it was a blessing. in all reality, I couldn't judge a book by its cover. because, well, the cover was too blurry to judge.
Until one fateful day...
••••
I recall, it was a snowy day here in England. It was rather chilly, but really, anything that is under the "normal" temp here is cold, considering it is basically the most meteorologically uneventful location on planet.
I was walking to work, as usual.
I made a lot of money with my condition, I really did. Honestly, I didn't really need to work. But, sitting around with nothing to do but play video games... Actually seemed like the dream life. but after beating basically every game 5 times around in a matter of 5 months... it gets boring and annoying. I finished my education, so I figured I could do something productive with my life, and if I hated the job, I could just quit whenever I wanted.
So, off to work I went.
I was a cashier at a local FYE.
If you're wondering what FYE is, it's basically a store for all of the weebs and band freaks and video game nerds to go and get merch and such.
I happened to be all three of these things.
It was the perfect place for me to work. plus, I got a discount on all of the things in the store.
I was sitting, minding my own business, watching Death Note on my tablet for the fifth time around.
It was a Tuesday, so business was pretty slow.
