Chapter ten: the journey

Walking along the docks before boarding the ship with my nations flags swaying in the wind, Rowan was keeping a watchful eye on me from the boat but every time I caught him staring at me he quickly averted his gaze to the horizon. Seeing Eli a couple feet away waiting for me to approach him. I slowly walked over to him
" I thought you had to go back to your Royal travels Eli" I said pulling my coat closer to my body
" well since our voyage is to see king maverick, so my parents agreed to let me accompany you" smiled Eli
"Oh joy princy is coming to" said Rowan with fake enthusiasm
"Let's just get on the boat" I said
I've never been on boat before so I didn't know how I would react to being at sea but I was fine I actually really enjoyed it but the boys were another story Eli was constantly light headed and Rowan was always nauseous, most of the time the boys would stay below deck while I loved being above, smelling the salty air with the sea mist on your face was relaxing.
I loved being by myself because when ever I was with Eli and Rowan they both would make snarky and below the belt comments.
"enough you two!"I said as I slapped my hand down on the table
Eli looked at me and apologized while Rowan just scoffed and walked away
"I don't know what wrong with him, it's like he just knows how to push my buttons" said Eli in a defeated voice as he got up and left to go below deck 
" that's what Rowan does, poke and push someone until they snap and I suggest that you just ignore him from the trip on" I said as Eli went down the stairs
" yeah that's a good idea and besides we only have two more days left on this death ship" joked Eli.

"What's wrong with you?!" I asked Rowan, he had tried to have many fights with Eli in the weeks aboard the ship.
" what's wrong with me is that princy over there complains about everything and doesn't appreciate anything, he's acting like a spoiled brat and what bothers me is that you always take his side, I know both of you don't want me here but it's my job to protect you" said Rowan in a firm voice.

"Well Rowan you never seemed to care if I took your side or not and to be honest ever since I met you you've always acted like the guy in the wrong so forgive me when I trust someone else because you've given me no reason to trust you"I said
"What have I shown that contradicts your ability to trust me?" Asked Rowan
And that's when I realized that he had shown no reason for me not to trust him
"It's not that I don't trust you it's that at every chance you get your insulting me and Eli" I said
"Do you really think I meant that Delia?" Rowan said looking into my eyes I thought I saw a genuine hurt.
"Why would you say it if you didn't mean it?"
"Because that what I do! And that's who I am so go run along to your beloved prince"spat Rowan as he walked away trying to avoid my response.
"What's wrong with you! I'm reaching out to you and all you do is let me in then blow up and push me away!"raising my voice as I followed after him.
I had heard enough so I walked away to my room on the ship, I walked over and flopped onto my bed. I laid there for awhile then I heard the door open and close shut gently,
A Hand gently brush my cheek and brushed my lips.
