Crashes and bangs rang through the ball room, people were running everywhere that the room was a complete blur. People were dropping like flys, I didn't know if they were unconscious or dead.
I got my answer to the dead or unconscious almost right away as I saw a sleeping dart pierce a women next to me, people were dipping left and right in the ballroom, Rowan took it upon himself to protect me and I could do that fine on my own but he didn't care.
Staring into the room of moving figures I catch the glimmer of bright peacock blue hair, it's violet but I don't see her spirit anywhere, she's flying through the air firing sleeping darts at anything that moves. Her eyes filled with wicked delight and hatred, Rowan was fighting tooth and nail against the intruder but within a split second he got hit with the dart and tumbed down on the floor.
I break from the haze I was in and I spring into action Begira on one side of me and Ashalle on the other, I turn to both of them with determination
"Do what you must but don't hurt violet" I say and with a nod of their head they're both pouncing into the fight. Begira slashing at anything that came at her and Ashalle let her white fire do its worst on those foolish enough to attack her.
Within a minute or two the attackers forces were dwendled to barely anything, the whole time I'd been dragging people under tables and behind doors to prevent them being taken. Looking around the room for another to drag to safety Violet locks eyes with me the hatred blazed through her eyes mouthing only a few short words before calling all her troops back
"This is all your fault,Delia "
How could this be my fault?
I didn't do anything, the ballroom was practically coated in blood my dress turning crimson red from all the blood that had been spilled from the fighting. My eyes find another who was unconscious and about to be taken. I grab Rowan's sword and dart to the unconscious women with men all around her.
"Hey! Leave that woman alone" I yell as I ready Rowan's sword in my hand
All of them looked odd, they're skin was so pale it was translucent and they had a symbol that look almost burned onto their throats and it glowed a dark blue.
They all turned and circled me, each sneering and laughing at what a poor innocent princess like me could do, clearly they hadn't grown up with two older brothers. I wipe around and slash ones hand clean off, the other invaders around me are to shocked to react. I'm walking effortlessly through the battle carefully harming each one enough to hurt but not die, I could see violet hard at work fighting a dozen palace guards but she doesn't seem to notice it's just a her left.
With one final swing of her weapon she disappeared into the night, I didn't know how to feel until I looked at some of the assailants. They were all from the masquerade but their cloth were ripped and they looked like hollow being if what they once were.
"Delia!" Rowan said as he ran to me from across the room, he brushed the hair out of my face and examined the small cut on my cheek.
"Why didn't you go and hide?!"he said looking into my eyes with anger
"I couldn't hide when people were being taken Rowan, I couldn't leave them." I said trying to break away from the iron grip he had on my shoulder but that only made it worse
"You can't do that again! You could have been taken or worse!" Rowan said with a sudden urgency in his voice, we turned and headed back to my room, as we reached my room Rowan calmed down a bit but once we reached my door.
"Delia I'm staying with you tonight" said Rowan as he opened the door and guided me inside
"Rowan, I'm fine. I don't think I'm in danger anymore." I said Sitting in my bed while I take off my shoes
"I don't care what you think Delia, I'm staying and that's final. I'll sleep on the floor."Rowan said as he went and found several blankets In a small chest
"Fine." I said as I went and changed into my nightgown, As I try to sleep all I could think about was Violet whipping through the air attacking people left and right.
"This is your fault, Delia" she cackled as she gestured behind her. Ashalle was on the floor fighting her restraints and Begira lay on the floor with multiple darts in her body. Rowan and Eli were walking up to Violet look just as sickly as the attacker tonight, both giving her a kiss.
"It's your choice Delia, pick one and lose the other"snickered Violet
As Violet spoke those words she raises her dagger and plunges it into Eli.

"Wake up Delia!" Rowan said shaking me as I fight against his grip.
"Delia wake up!" Said Rowan as he pulled me into his chest.
"It was awful, Rowan"I said as tears filled my eyes
"I lost everyone I cared about and it was all my fault"
"Delia you know none of this was your fault"Rowan said as he pulled back to look at me, his eyes almost glowed in the dark.
"Nothing that has happened is your fault"he said gently
"What if it is."I said silently into his chest
