Reading Can Hurt Chapter 8

"C'mon lets go." She said not even looking behind her

"Realax I'm coming." I responded

We ran for a while for about a few minuets and finally stopped. I had no idea where we were. I quickly looked around and still have no idea.

"Umm... Where are we?" I asked rubbing my head

"Not important," she said "now tell me!"

"Tell you what?" I said still rubbing my head from my dizziness

"How you got the book."

I told her how I got it which only took a few minutes since I was talking fast. After I was done I was out of breath and gasped for air and sighed.

I looked up at her "You ok?"

She had a confused look "Yeah...."

"Now you have to tell me why he is out to get me!" I said

"Alright first, do u live only with your mom, right?" She asked looking down at the ground

"Yes?" I said looking very confused "Why?"

"Well your dad killed his wife." She said slowly

"Oh My GOSH!" I yelled "I'm so sorry-"

Ashely cut me off "Don't be he's a bad man!"

"Why?" I asked

"Look he says he killed his wife but really his wife did it by accident and he wont admit it to anyone."

"Then how do you know?"

"She told me the night in the hospital before she died." Ashely said with a sad look

"Oh, then why is he out to get me, I did nothing wrong." I said putting my hand on my waist

"Well your related to him so its either you or your mom." She said also mimicking what I was doing

"Then take my mom, shes mean and old, I'm young and nice." I said raising  my voice higher and higher

"I know, I told him to get your mom but he ignored me and walked away." She said rolling her eyes

"Mhmmm.... Then did he plan this out, me getting the book?" I said quieter

"Well no not exactly, he wanted you more to read that other book..."

"What's that one book about?" i asked

"I'm not positive what its about but is deals with positions or something strange or out of the blue." She responded to me

"Wow, so how did he want to kill me by buying that book?" I said sitting down on a tree stump

"Well...... There was one position that if you drank it you die, and he was hoping you would do that one, I tryed to stop him and make him come to his senses but he pushed me away." She said sitting next to me

"Awwww, thanks for trying to help me." I said putting my arm around her shoulder

"No problem." She said

I got a little suspicious when she did not push my arm away but I'm glade she didn't.

I grined but it went away "So whats up with him not letting me get the other book? even thought I sort of stole sorry by the way."

"It's ok," She said "But I think you know why he did not want you to get the book."

I looked around with a puzzled look "Oh yeah! Cause the book come to life!"

"Right, so you do have a brain in there." She said grinning

"Hey! I might not be and 'A' student like you but at least I never got held back."

"Right, right..." She said smiling

"Then how do we stop it?" I asked looking at her

She did not responded, for a second I thought she was mad at me for some odd reason but that couldn't be it. She was looking right at me into my eyes. I always loved her eyes! Then she came closer to me my eyes widen. Then her lips touched mine.

What!? She, she kissed me? How is this possible I thought she did not want a relationship with anyone especially since I'm younger then her. After a few seconds her head pulled away from me.

"W-What was that for?" I asked, my eyes widend

"Sorry you just looked so cute." She said blushing

Wow! I never say her blush before! This is a new day for me I have to remember this forever.

"Oh well ummm thanks your ummmm cute to." i said, I had no idea what to say

"Well lets go." She said getting up

"Go where? I asked following her

"To get your book."

"Why?"

"Well, if I remember correctly Chrilse said something about 'the book is the key' or something." She said turning arournd to look at me

"Ok, but how do you know about this Cahrlis guy?" I asked her

She stopped "Well, he is a part of my family."

"Like?" I asked "A uncle, grandpa.....?"

"No none of those, he is my dad......" She sais looking down

"What!?" I said yelling so loudly birds flew out of the tree and flew away

"Look i didnt choose who my dad could or can be." She said starting walking again

"Oh I'm sorry I-" She cut me off again

"Again dont be sorry I dont like him like you dont like your mom."

"How come?" I asked running to catch up to her

She sighed "He abuses me ever since mom died."

"Just like my mom." I said

"Yeah I guess."

We left the forest and jogged to my house. The whole way was silent, sort of an akward silence. I still could not look Ashely right in the eyes since the forest. Finally we got to my house with my mom gone of course.

I un-locked the door and went to my room

"Where did you put it?" Ashley asked

"I have no idea I tossed it on the ground somewhere." I said looking around

We looked for a while and found nothing..... I was getting woried that we would never found it. My butterflies on my stomach came back.

"Ugh! Where is it?" Ashely said "We praticly flipped the house up side down looking for it!"

"I dont know." I said

"Did you loose it?" She said ooking as scared as I do

"I think so."

Sorry I have not been writing I'm busy these days with homework and such. Oh and sorry for the crappy ending I had no idea how to end it..... Oops..... I'll try and write more.
