Halia's POV

I knew leaning on the door would be a bad idea.

I stood up abruptly after my fall, trying to not cringe in the process. Who would've known a spy who is supposed to not be clumsy ends up being clumsy?

"Amazing. I appreciate the term "falling at a man's feet" and all, but don't you think we're a little too early in our relationship for that?" Logan chuckled, staring me down with his gorgeous blue eyes.

Gorgeous blue eyes?

"Hey. At least I didn't admit that I liked you quite as directly as you did, but then again I'm not an arrogant fool." I fired back, raising an eyebrow as a nice token of my appreciation.

Logan rolled his eyes, and raised his arm wide to let me in.

After two hours of "preparation" (all that happened was the boys messing with each other), the party was finally in session. And Wes and his boys did throw a very poppin party.

Evan somehow managed to carry seven solo cups to where the other three boys and I were conquering. Many already drunk teenagers swayed to the beat of the pulsing music. The strobe lights didn't particularly help the drunks either.

"Let's get this party going!!" Wes finally handed out the drinks. We all toasted and took a long sip.

"To the best party ever!" Jared added, more joyous then I have ever seen him this past day.

"To the best party." Everyone repeated, participating in another toast. So far, my first high school party wasn't all that bad.

Logan caught my eye, winking. He then took a long sip, never leaving eye contact with me. Again, I raised my eyebrow, because I knew I was fainting from hot boy-ness.

The two other girls apart of their group were also here. Amelia and Charlotte; the two inseparables, best friends, should sisters. They were practically conjoined at school.

This party changed that.

After getting to know them, we all seemed to realize that we were the same person separated into three bodies. I had never felt such a close relation to anybody so quickly. One of my only best friends from my life before, Delanie, had disappeared before I had as well.

"Hey! Amelia and I wanted to talk to you, you know, without them." Charlotte laughed, gesturing especially at Evan.

Everybody knew that Charlotte and Evan both had the biggest crushes on each other. I've known them for a few hours, but after all the incessant flirts and lingering gazes, their attraction to each other was stronger then cologne.

Evan smirked, putting two fingers on his forehead, saluting Charlotte's words. Charlotte, who I've learned will never back down from any type of fight, jumped onto Evan's back and started fake choking him. How could they not tell they like each other?? I questioned in my head.

I laughed, my arms linked with Amelia. "We'll never get some alone time all together with Charlotte trying to back fuck Evan." I said, wiggling my eyebrows.

Amelia grinned, her brown eyes lighting up with laughter."I'm so glad you exist. Where have you been all my life! Now I'll never be their wheeled ever again!!"

Girls grabbed Jared by his arms and led him to the main dance floor. How amusing, Jared is drunk, I thought, watching as he started twerking with one girl below him and the other piggybacking him. I've always thought of him as the stiff line backer, but I'd learned from Evan that he was actually the quarterback.

The boys whooped in Jared's direction, and seeing our chance of escape, I grabbed Charlotte and Amelia's wrists. We ventured through the massive crowd of sweaty people gyrating, eventually making it to the porch stairs. Everyone that Logan had invited had already arrived; it was just Amelia, Charlotte, the moon and I tonight.

Wes and I's street was deserted. My house loomed to my left, and I stared at the window I knew was my bedroom's. In this town, the bigger houses were closer to the beach. Our houses faced the part of the beach that combined with the nearby forest, and I realized how beautiful it looked with the fog rolling in. I was happy to be here in Jenner, I realized, smiling at myself. I was enjoying it after a miserable year.

"Were you just thinking about Logan, or were you just thinking about Logan?" Amelia teased, sitting to my left and laying a blanket out as Charlotte sat on my right.

Charlotte giggled, "Who else would bring such a bright smile to her face?"

"I'm actually appreciating living here. I don't know, I hated it here at first. I'm not that great with accepting change." I admitted, knowing I could trust them.

I knew I shouldn't. All of my training to "trust no one" echoed in my brain. But these people were different, nothing like I expected. Why had I shut them out for so long?

You know why, I thought. You have to have better. You have to get back. I shifted nervously underneath the blanket, squeezing my hands together.

The pulsating music drifted through the open windows as we sat down on the steps. I didn't know it at the time, but as Amelia and Charlotte and I grew closer together, my chances of coming back to the C.I.A were breaking apart.
