Chapter seven Mistress of the forest and Champions are announced

Astoria's P.O.V

The Forbidden Forest was actually sunny today for a change and that made my job easier, currently I was feeding the animals in the forest for Hagrid some of them require special diets. Hagrid came bumbling out of his hut and said in his usual jovial tone, "Astoria your doing a great job as usual. The gift you have is unheard of in muggle borns. Well I hate to leave you on your own but Dumbledore needs some errands done can you handle the rest my young protege?" I nodded happily and said, "It's no trouble at all, the creatures here have become like my babies and I want to protect and cherish them." Hagrid smiled and said, "If we had more people like you the world would be a wonderful place, your kindness and heart are unmatched never forget that." I smiled and waved while he got in the carriage and drove away. I then walked deeper into the forest to continue with my work. This was my favorite place in the whole world the only sounds to be heard were ones made by nature and the soft beating of my heart. I loved company but I also valued solitude as well there was something to be said for silence unfortunately my sacred world was violated by the sound of crunching leaves and it wasn't Draco he would never make that much racket, it looked like my day was about to get more complicated.

There before me stood the thron's in my side, I shall call them the dumb trio from now on. The Pug Parkinson opened her mouth and said, "What's wrong is the so called Slytherin princess scared? Well you should be we can do all sorts of horrible things to you out here and no one would be the wiser." I was frankly getting tired of this crap so I said, "Parkinson you and your goons better leave you're making my friends upset." She looked around and scoffed and said, "What friends, no one is coming to save you. You're a worthless piece of trash not fitting to stand in Drakiepoos presence" My tone was sharp as I said, "Parkinson you should really stop talking about yourself like that people might think your stuck up"

The minute she processed the insult she said, "Get her boys!" I turned and ran not because I was scared but because I was leading them right into a trap that would hopefully teach them a lesson, my vindictive Slytherin side was about to make an appearance. I finally stopped and saw the gigantic intricate webs above my head most people would be screaming but I was right at home. I had to make it fully convincing so I drew my wand and sent some weak hexes at the three, I could destroy them if I really wanted to. Parkinson finally managed to disarm me, it took her long enough and she said, "Now you have no one to protect you, any last words?" A truly Slytherin smirk crawled across my face as I said, "Well its not exactly words."

I put my fingers to my mouth and whistled. The forest got really quite and Parkinson said, "Well that was a waste of last words" I smiled and said, "Wait for it" That's when the branches started to crack and creak and long spindly black legs began to appear out of large holes in the ground and all of a sudden we were surrounded by sixty Achromantulas and Parkinson immediately fainted, figures. My tone was smug as I said, "So boys you have two options, you can turn around and leave my forest or I can let my friends have a nice warm snack what's it going to be?" They took one look at each other and proceeded to runaway screaming like little girls but I wasn't done with Parkinson yet, far from it. I motioned for Dean one of my favorite Acromantuals besides to come over and stand over Parkinson I then sat down on a log and proceeded to eat and apple while I waited for her to wake up.

Her eyes soon opened and she started screaming her head off so I cast a Silencio and that remedied the issue. I bent down next to her and said, "I'm going to unsilence you now so please don't scream any more." She nodded so I undid the spell and began to speak in a cool tone and said, "You now have two options Parkinson you can stop bullying me and leave Draco alone or my fine friendly friend Dean could have you for lunch. You're choice." She looked me dead in the eye and said, "You would be a murder you're to much of a bleeding heart to kill anyone!" I shook my head and took on a mock warm tone and said, "That's where your wrong my beautiful fly. I wouldn't be the one who killed you, this fellow would. I'm simply here preventing your death." Parkinson started to shake in anger and said, "Fine I will leave both of you alone just please let me go" I took on a cold tone and said, "Beg" She realized I wasn't messing around and said, "Please I'm begging you" That was satisfying enough so I waved Dean off and said, "Now get out of my forest" She stood up and ran for her life, now to find my wand.

Another pair of footsteps caught my attention these were softer however and the Acromantulas were calm that could only be one person. My voice took on a warm air as I said, "Hello love you seem frustrated yet amused at the same time" I heard him huff behind me and he said, "Well I have to go back to Snape's class after dinner to clean up Parkinson's and I's potion disaster and I'm humored because she just feel in a dung pile while I was walking here." I frowned and said, "Parkinson isn't going to help you is she?" He shook his head and sighed and said in a broken tone, "I got my first average grade to day and it sucks. I work so hard to keep up my grades it burns me to my core." I put my hands on his shoulder and started to rub them and said, "Its alright love everything will be fine. You know what I don't have any more classes today how about we just wait hang out until dinner." He nodded and we just talked until dinner.

We got back to the great hall and Joesy and Seamus had managed to make food explode so that was a lovely mess we finally managed to sit down and Blaise said, "You guys are just in time the champions are about to be pooped out of the Goblet of Fire. I simply thought yep that's Blaise and continued to watch Dumbledore. He stood and said, "I will now announce the champions, from Bueaxbatons we have, Fleur Delacour. A beautiful woman who looked to be part Veela stood up and went to stand by Professor Dumbledore but not before shooting a wink in Draco's direction. That made me cringe. Dumbledore cleared his throat and said, "From Drumstrang another piece of paper flew out of the goblet and he began to speak again, "Viktor Krum" He stood but appeared to be walking with a limp. Draco was smirking beside me and shot a discreet thumbs up to the Weasley twins. I should have know he wouldn't let Viktors transgressions slide. I would have to scold and congratulate him later. Then the moment we have all been waiting for came. Dumbledore finally said. "Representing Hogwarts will be Cedric Diggory" There was a round of applause he was a well liked and respected Hufflepuff as well as team captain for the quidditch team. Just when we thought it was all over, one more piece of paper pops out and Dumbledore says, "Harry Potter" There was a collective gasp and I mumbled, "Here we go again, Harry is in another mess."
