Chapter ten Best couple and ferret adventures

Draco's P.O.V

Merlin all of my dreams have come true I finally have the Slytherin princess in my arms and no one can take her away from me. We finally arrived at the great hall where the official ball was being held, I took Astoria's hand and walked in we went to stand by Neveah and Blaise who were currently snogging like tomorrow was never going to come, you think they could have some self control. Seamus and Joesy were over in the corner making tiny heart shaped explosions with their wands and Violet was laid out in George's lap on one of the couches. Dumbledore walked in shortly after and said, "This evening we honor our champions and our students. As customary the champions will have the first dance and we also have to pick our best couple but for now let the festivities begin. The doors to the great hall swung open and the song Hall of fame by the Script began pumping through the hall and in strolled Fleur who had Bill Weasley on her arm, followed by Viktor and Hermione, then came Cedric and Cho and finally bringing up the rear was Potter and Parvati. They all began to dance in synchronization well all except for Potter he was dreadful on a dance floor, I couldn't hold back the snicker and I got elbowed for it. Blaise finally tapped my shoulder and said, "So mate did you and her you know...." He then started to make very inappropriate hand gestures and Astoria shot him a look that would make He Who Must Not Be Named run away. She crossed her arms and said, "Blaise I'm not that kind of girl I assure you there will be none" She copied his hand gesture and continued to talk and said, "This until we are married thank you very much!" A tiny sigh escaped me, well I guess the best things are worth waiting for.

We finally got our chance to dance and it was wonderful we were perfectly instep it was as if we could read each others minds. Her slight frame fit against my much taller one perfectly and the smile on her face was glorious, Dumbledore finally called everything to a halt and said, "Its is time to begin the voting for the best couple our couples up for nomination are Hermione Granger and Viktor Krum and Astoria Greengrass and Draco Malfoy please cast your votes." There was a course of shock and most people said, "Finally took you long enough" I also heard someone scream get some. I think it might have been Blaise but I'm not completely sure. We stood there in silence for fifteen minutes holding our breath, we had fierce competition. Dumbledore finally said, "The voting is closed and our winner by one vote is..." The room went silent when he said, "Astoria Greengrass and Draco Malfoy, please come to the stage and receive your awards." I took Astoria's hand and led her up to the platform where Dumbledore placed a gorgeous emerald and silver tiara that made her look like a true princess and he then placed a crown on my head. I decided to really give everyone something to talk about, I grabbed Astoria gently and said, "Love are you ready to tell the world" I didn't give her the opportunity to respond I bent her down and captured her lips in a searing kiss. I heard Parkinson's scream resound through out the ball room and someone I assume it was Neveah, petrified her so she couldn't look away and then the best part of the evening happened.

Professor Snape stood up and appeared to be a bit wobbly he must have had to much to drink and he began to speak and said, "I predicted this outcome last year and I am happy to say the ship has sailed fifty points to Slytherin." He began to wander back over to the drink table and when he made it, he immediately feel in the punch bowl. It was quit the sight to see and he was never going to live it down. Professor Mcgonagall finally levitated him out of the punch bowl so he wouldn't drown. We heard a rather loud explosion in the corner and out stumbled Joesy and Seamus covered in soot. It was about time to call it a evening and I also lost sight of Neveah and Blaise. Astoria was sitting beside me on one of the couches and she was half unconscious, her eyes fluttered as she tried to battle sleep, it was cute. My tone was soft as I said, "Love, I think its time to get you to bed, oh by the way may I Slytherin? " She gave me a look but didn't argue back. I picked her easily since she was light and I worked out everyday and then began to carry her back to the common room. We arrived in the common room and weak applause greeted us there were also very strange noises coming from inside Blaise's room. Well at least I know where my cousin is, and it sounds like she's having a good time. I whispered the word dragon to Astoria's door, it was pretty easy to figure out her password. I pushed the door open with my foot and placed her on the bed, I then cast a charm that would give her sweet dreams and kissed her forehead. There was nothing that could bring my mood down now.

I woke up the next morning feeling like I was king of the world and why shouldn't I. I had the girl of my dreams and nothing had tried to kill us so far, knock on wood. I looked around the common room and saw that no one else was up, figures its a Saturday and everyone was probably still exhausted from last night. So I decided to get dresses and take a walk. The day was beautiful there was a light dusting of snow on the ground and the weather was cool but the sun made it bearable. I saw Potter walking and decided to go say hi and that's when my day went to bloody hell. I called out and said, "Oi, Potter what are you doing today basking in your glory as a champion? Oh, and I know you didn't cheat so don't worry about me being mad at you unlike the Weasel." He was about to open his mouth when the Dumb Duo appeared and drew their wands I was about to come to Potters aid when a blast of magical energy hit me and all of a sudden the world was a whole lot bigger. The double dumb ran and Professor "Peg leg" Moody came hobbling out and said, "Potter are you alright? Oh my Mr.Malfoy don't panic but you're a ferret."

I hightailed it out of the area and raced to the common room unfortunately I couldn't get in since I couldn't exactly talk. It appeared I still had a little luck on my side however because Nott came and entered the dorm and I slipped in after him, I immediately began to scratch on the door to Astoria's room. Sure enough she opens the door and says, "You must be lost little guy well come in and relax until your owner comes." She picked me up and sat me on her bed and did something completely unexpected, she stripped down to her knickers and fell on the bed. Merlin's bloody unicorn she was beautiful her body was perfectly proportionment and her knickers were green and silver. She then picked me up and put me on her chest and began to scratch my ears and said, "You know what little guy, I have had a great year. I finally managed to get the guy of my dreams Draco Malfoy, it was a struggle though. I was scared if he found out the truth he would leave but instead he promised me a lifetime. There are some secrets he is better off not knowing though." This caught my attention and I could tell it was painful memory so I simply snuggled under her chin and waited for her to continue." Small tears began to fall as she said, "How do you tell the love of your life that his father murdered your family." I uncurled from my position beneath he chin and climbed my way upon to her face and began to lick the tears away. I knew my father was and evil man but this was completely unexpected. She continued to speak in a broken tone and said, "Dumbledore told me who had done the deed at the end of first year, I wish he hadn't because now the man that destroyed my family is going to be part of it. Sick irony isn't it?" She just continued to snuggle me close and cry and it destroyed me I was already ashamed to call that evil piece of trash my father and now I was absolutely disgusted.

The door to her room swung open and in strode Professor "Peg Leg" Moody and pain in my posterior Potter. Potter opened his mouth and said in an excited tone, "See Professor I told you we would find him here!" Astoria had a shocked look on her face and Professor "Peg Leg" Moody drew his wand and turned me back to normal. The only problem was that I had nothing on and Astoria couldn't seem to tear her eyes away. I mean I know I look amazing but there was no need for analyzation." Potter than made the most brilliant statement ever, "Oh, Astoria you don't have any cloth other than your nickers and Draco is naked, Professor I think that's our cue to leave." He nodded and closed the door and I was left defenseless with a very angry soulmate. Bloody Hell!
