Chapter fourteen The second trial and Cedric Diggory

Draco's P.O.V

The second trial was today and it was going to be held at the Black Lake, but I decided not to go, Astoria was banned from going to the Black Lake and Ashley was still recovering from her quidditch injury. Blaise and Neveah however raced off at top speed this morning, I remember the exact words Blaise said to me, "Mate I'm heading out to watch the trial and snog Neveah and blow things up with the Weasley twins, be careful with the girls. They are kinda moody today Ashley miss took me for Mclagan when she woke up and tried to kill me. Then Astoria tried to turn me into a sloth simply because she woke up to me holding her bra!" That last bit caught my attention and I said in a menacing tone, "May I ask why you had her bra?" He simply looked at me as if I had asked the dumbest question ever and said, "I picked it up to move it out of the way." He said it like that solved everything but it really didn't so I said, "Mate don't ever under any circumstances pick up a woman's knickers with out expressed permission that kind of thing will get you killed." He blinked a couple of times and said, "I never thought about it that way but I have to go if I'm late Neveah might not snog me and she might decide to cancel our late night plans." He then dashed out the door leaving a trail of dust and chocolate frog wrappers behind him. A sigh escaped me it was going to be a long day.

I went to take my seat on the sofa and get everything set up to watch the trial it all went off without a hitch and suddenly a brilliant image of the Black Lake was displayed and the champions were getting into position, they had to rescue someone precious to them from the bottom of the Black Lake, all while contending with the monsters that lay beneath the surface. It was going to be a bloody and brutal day. I felt the couch sink on either side of me and I knew my two lovely ladies had joined me, Ashley was laying sprawled out in my lap and Astoria was snuggled into my chest. Ashely was the first to speak and said, "They are going to have to find away to breath underwater huh wow that's amazing." Astoria spoke up next and said, "The other champions probably know a spell to help them but Harry probably won't. He hasn't learned any yet, I know one however." This caused a chuckle to escape me as I said, "That's because your the biggest nerd ever love, you practically live in a book." This earned me two sharp elbows to my sides and I said in a mock hurt tone, "Hey you two brutes I'm pale I bruise easy." That's when the trial started and Professor "Peg Leg" Moody pushed pain in my posterior Potter into the lake and he transformed into a fish/human hybrid. We watched with baited breath as Potter reappeared out of the murky depths with two people. He was third place but he was moved to second because of heroics. He always had to be such a bleeding heart, but I suppose I can't give him to hard a time. If I had never become like him then these two wouldn't be in my arms, my changed personality has earned me, someone who loves me and someone who depends on me and I couldn't be happier.

The proceedings were finally over and in stumbled Blaise and Neveah lip locked in a searing snog. I covered Ashley's eyes she was too young to know about this complete lack of self control relationship. My tone was scolding as I said, "There is a child present mind yourselves!" Ashley pried my hands off of her eyes and said, "That's what Noah Nicklaus did to me the other day in the hall, he said he liked me and then he kissed me." This was news too me and then she said something that really set me off. Her tone was soft and ashamed as she said, "Then I saw him snogging Lana Lace and he said, "I would rather have a roaring lion over a dirty snake any day, now slither on back into your hole" Tears began to slip down her cheeks as she said, "Am I not good enough?" That's it that pitiful little bird was going to get his wings ripped off, what is it about Ravenclaws some of them are brilliant and kind hearted and others were rude and demeaning. I wasn't processing much of anything when a deep and warm voice caught my attention and said, "Hello Draco." I turned and came face to face with Cedric Diggory, he was a little bit like a brother to me since he used to watch me while mum and dad were away.

He walked right up to me and ruffled my hair and said, "What are you doing in the Ravenclaw area of the castle. You should be in the Slytherin section." I was about to shoot a witty retort back and ask him why he was in the Ravenclaw area but then I remembers his girlfriend was a Ravenclaw. So I simply said, "I'm looking for Noah Nicklaus, have you seen him?" Cedric looked me square in the eye and said, "Draco I can tell when your angry no matter how cool you try to play it, so what did the little slime ball do?" I clenched my fist and said, "He hurt Ashley and he is going to pay, that little pice of filth." Cedric simply nodded and said, "Can't argue with you there he was heading down the hall way a little bit ago and don't kill him Draco." I nodded and said, "Thanks Cedric I hope you do well in the last part of the tournament." With that I was dashing off to find the brown haired beady hazel eyed creature. I finally found him and the moment he saw me he drew his wand, I quickly disarmed him and put the tip of my wand against his throat. My tone was harsh as I growled out, "Do you have any idea why I'm here?" He shook his head and said, "Are you the boyfriend of one of the girls I cheated on out for revenge?" I pushed the tip into his throat and said, "Ashley Simmons remember her, you broke her heart not too long ago." His eyes widened and he said, "You mean that sad little girl that thought a third year had time for her" I was sick of this so I used a simple hex like the one weasel tried to use on me, soon enough he was throwing up slugs. I walked away in triumph and was headed back to the common room when voices from the courtyard caught my attention. I saw my father standing there with Professor "Peg Leg" Moody, they looked to be in deep discussion what is going on?
