MARIA'S DOLLS

At the Diner. Maria was enjoying her new job.  Everyone treated her nice.   Which really surprise her.  She always thought all older people are mean.  She realized she was wrong.  She was from work at seven.   Her boss knew that Maria had to go and cook,  So, she let her take three platters to save her some time.  "Maria you did a very good job today.  Here we share work and we also share food.  I know you need time to do your homework.  Here's three today's special take them home.  Save you so time, now you don't have to cook. " said her supervisor Lin   "It's all right, I'm used to it.  Thank you anyway." said she   

"Maria is all right to accept others help,  you know that don't you?" asked Lin  Maria realize that not accepting the food made Lin feel bad, "Thank you again.  It'll save me plenty of time.  Your mother gave me a job and all,  I don't want to look like I'm taking advantage."Maria explained   "I gave it to you, you didn't ask me for anything, and you very much welcome.  So I  see you tomorrow at three thirty." said Lin   "See you, again thank you." said Maria as she went to the bus stop.    She got on the bus and went home.

Meanwhile on the porch......Frank and Grandmom were making last minute plans, not knowing that Maria had summer plans of her own,   'So when does school finish?" asked Frank   "One more week.  Have you called Richard lately? asked Grandmom     "No, he should be calling us soon,  I did receive the air flight tickets.  He gave us two thousand for traveling expenses.  He said we'll get the rest of delivery" explained Frank  

"Why didn't you tell me that before!  Where's the money? asked Grandmom   Frank reaches into his pockets and pulled out the money.  He handed it the Grandmom.  She counted it twice then said, "There five hundred missings.  So what's the story?" asked Grand Mom     "There's no story, I'm doing all this work, I'm getting pay!" said Frank  "But five hundred, really, you haven't done anything yet! What's your problem?" asked Grandmom in a piss off tone.   "Get mad all you want!  I need clothes and things if I have to go and deliver her.  I have to represent."Frank said yet walking far away from her.   

Grandmom realized that Frank had a point, if we look weak, then we are weak.  They might just take Maria and not pay us at all."She thought to herself.   She said, "Fine.  Help me up from here, I want to go inside." said Grandmom as Frank gripped her hands and help her up.   They both went into the house.    Not noticing Herma running across the room, to hide again under the sofa.   She made sure she hear everything they said.  She couldn't believe her ear.  

"These people are so wrong.  They want to sell Maria.  That's wrong, so so so Wrong.  Wait until I tell the other,  Baby was right.  These people are monsters." she whispered to herself.   Herma was upset she had to somehow get Chunky's attention.  But how? she thought.  She remembered she still had a couple of tack in her apron pocket.  So she took them out and placed them on Grandmom's chair then she ran back under the sofa.
