"Kyle!" I squeal, laughing as he throws me over his shoulder, running down the beach with a football in his hand.

It's Friday, after school, and everyone on the football team and cheerleading squad invited me to join them on their weekly tradition - football on the beach and a bonfire afterwards on Fridays. Being the nice person I am - and not really wanting to see my father -, I accepted and caught a ride with Kyle.

"We win!" Kyle hollers, spinning us around in a circle before setting me down in my dizzy state.

"Great, now we can go eat and stop playing." I smile sarcastically, turning around and walking towards our designated spot. Football is not my forte..

"Looks like you were having fun." Holly, a cheerleader, says with a hint of laughter in her voice.

I roll my eyes, taking a seat next to her as some of the guys start working on a fire. "I don't really know how to play football so how can I have fun?" I laugh as I eagerly stare at the logs in front of me, trying to will a spark with my eager thoughts for warmth.

Someone sits next to me, they're mild body heat radiating off of them and on me - causing me to smile before leaning against them.

"Told you you'd need a jacket." Kyle jokingly says and I shake my head.

"Told you I didn't want to go home." I quietly respond, looking at the crashing waves in front of me.

I hear Kyle sigh, pulling me closer to him as he wraps the large, blue fluffy blanket in his hands around us, keeping the both of us warm. "Well, good thing I had this blanket." His warm breath hits my hair and I giggle softly, his lips kissing the top of my head before resting his chin there.

"Finally!" Chad shouts, standing up with his hands in the air as the fire starts up, sparks floating up to the sky.

"About time.." Bianca says sassily, watching her boyfriend in awe.

Their relationship is different than others. They both love each other but they don't treat each other differently just because they're in love. They still act like themselves and I admire that, shows that you can trust them because they're always real and never putting on a different face.

"Shut it, B.." Chad smiles softly, walking over to her and kissing her softly as the rest of the gang run over to the fire for warmth.

Boy, a relationship like theirs would be nice...

"Thanks again for inviting me out. I had a good time." I smile softly, taking a quick glance at the lit house before looking back at the blue eyed boy.

"I'm glad you came. It was more fun with you there." Kyle smiles back, his thumb rubbing the back of my hand.

All night we've been holding hands, cuddly, and, for some odd reason, I don't want it to stop. But at the same time, it almost feels wrong and I don't know why...

I push that feeling aside and decide to enjoy the moment; the moment when I'm actually starting to feel like this is home.

"I try to be fun.." I laugh softly, tucking a strand piece of hair behind my ear causing his large hoodie to fall down my arm.

"Don't try, just be you.." He softly says, leaning closer to me and my heart thumps, my breathing getting shallow.

Our lips brush together softly before pulling away slightly. Our eyes lock before closing, his lips meeting mine quickly as they move in sync together slowly.
