"Since your teammates ruined it for you, ballet with the boys is simply not going to happen." Abby told us. We nodded our heads.
We were all kinda disappointed because it was fun to dance with the boys. It was something we hadn't done before.
"So, instead of ballet you girls are going to go take an acting lesson. So you guys can go there now, Miss. Lane is waiting for you guys." Abby told us.
Since it wasn't exactly considered a dance class we didn't have to go change back into our dance clothes yet.
We walked down the hall to the left of the den, past the costume room and the bathrooms and into the acting slash vocal room.
"Hi girls!" A lady with black hair told us as we came into the room.
The lady had a black blouse and some white skinny jeans on.
She shook my hand as we entered the room. "Hello, nice to meet you I'm Miss Lane and you must be Katie." She greeted me.
"Yes, that's me." I said after I shook her hand.
"Okay girls were just going to go some monologues with the three of you." Miss. Lane said as she handed us all scripts.
"Mackenzie your part is Tammy, Maddie yours is Lexi, and Katie yours is Jamie."
We started to act out the script with Mackenzie starting first.
"Oh my gosh! Where is my homework? I put it right here!" Mackenzie said pointing to a desk.
"Are you sure Tammy? You forget stuff all the time." I said making a joke.
"Jamie this is serious!" Mackenzie said in an annoyed tone.
"Calm down Tammy, it's just a little homework assignment." Maddie said as if it was no big deal.
"Are you kidding me! This little homework assignment is worth fifty points of my grade!" Mackenzie said rummaging through stuff on the desk.
"Wow, fifty points!" I said widening my eyes.
"There is no way I'm going to make honor role now." Mackenzie said sitting down into one of the chairs and putting her head to her hands.
Maddie pulled me aside. "We have to do something." Maddie told me.
"Yeah, but what in the world are we going to do!"
"I don't know but we better think of something." Maddie told me.
"And scene!" Miss Lane said louder.
We all walked back together and stood in front of Miss Lane. She gave each of us a high five. "That was very nice girls!" Miss Lane told us.
"Okay a few things, you guys need to be louder, I need more sad emotion from you Mackenzie." Miss. Lane told us.
After we ran through that script and a few others we ended the class.
It was a really fun class though, I was looking forward to taking more acting classes and maybe even a vocal class.
After the acting class we got ready for our regular dance classes.
We had Jazz, Hip hop, Contemporary, Technique, Acro, and ballet. After those classes I was given a private with Abby which was really fun.
When it was time to go home both my mom and I got in the car to leave.
"Hey, I got a call from my work today and it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it to New York this weekend." My mom told me as she drove.
"Wait why?" I asked confused.
"They want me to go to a really important meeting on Saturday." She told me.
My mom is an accountant and usually she could work from her laptop from home. However sometimes they have her come to meetings at the actual work office.
"Well that stinks... Do you think that Abby's going to be mad at you for not being there?" I asked concerned.
"Don't worry, I already talked to Abby she understands its only because of work." My mom reassured me.
I let out a sigh of relief as my mom continued to drive. We decided to pick up some food at Wendy's for dinner. I ordered a regular chicken sandwich and my mom ordered a spicy chicken sandwich.
We went through the drive through and got the food. It was really good but I was starting to miss home cooked meals. Well I guess that's the price you have to pay for getting an opportunity like this I thought.
