I was the first to wake so I decided to go out onto the deck and call my mom. I had never received that text after she had landed and I wondered if she had no service.
I quietly made my way outside on the deck. Swiftly I shut the door without making a sound.
After searching through my contacts I dialed my moms number and the rings began to sound through the phone.
"Hello, this is Amanda Rosa and you've reached my voice mail, I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the phone but I'll try to call you back as soon as possible. I'll tell you soon, Bye." My mom's recorded message played.
"Hey mom, it's Katie. I haven't talked to you since before your flight, please call me back when you get the chance. Love you, bye." I left my message slightly disappointed by going straight to voice mail.
Letting myself relax I looked at the sky while leaning against the deck's railing. I took a breath in then let a breath out. The stress and anxiety I've been hiding from everyone lately certainly can't be healthy. But how could anyone else understand what I'm going through. They may say they get it or try to make me feel better but they just can't because they will never get it. Never get the fact that my life is falling to pieces right in front of my eyes. I just don't think it's possible to make matters worse.
My eyes filled with tears as I looked over the sky. Why do I feel bad for myself? Im on a hit tv show for crying out loud. I'm not entitled to feel bad for myself anymore because I'm luckier than over ninety nine percent of the entire world.
Wiping my tears away I put on a smile and acted like I was okay. I had to act okay I don't want others to see me as weak. Plus I definitely don't want my friends feeling bad for me.
Creeping back into the room I noticed Jojo was awake. "Why were you out there?" She asked groggily.
"Oh the sunrise was really pretty, I just wanted to take a picture of it, but the lighting was horrible." I lied.
"Well that stinks. I wish I could have seen it." Jojo laughed.
"Yeah, good thing is it'll be back tomorrow." I laughed as well.
Eventually all eight of us were wide awake and ready for our day. After being fed omelets by Ashlee we said our last goodbyes before leaving. Today I was going to be living with the Hillikers, but my mom should be back tomorrow just in time for the ALDC promo with Maddie.
Kalani's step dad Dave had picked the two of us up from Brynn's. "What's on your girl's agenda for the day?" Dave asked us.
"No idea." Kalani answered.
"Yep." I agreed popping the P.
"We'll probably just hang out around the house." Kalani locked her phone after taking a selfie.
"That sounds like something you girls need. When was the last day you girls had nothing going on?" Dave took a right at an intersection.
