DART’S P.O.V

I still can’t believe it, I asked Layla Sullivan out on a date and she said yes!  Our first date ever since I got back to town- can you beat that? I was taking her somewhere special and private, its not going to be a glamorous date but am sure it’ll be worth her while. I wore my favorite black jeans coupled with my black biker boots, I topped it of with a green shirt that read; IF IT FEELS GOOD, DO IT! Well this felt so damn good and I really am glad to be DOING it, whatever it is.

I was presently in Layla’s office premises: standing in front of the receptionist’s desk with flowers in one hand and a box of chocolates in the other. The blonde behind the desk had her back to me; she was fiddling with something in her hand bag.

'Excuse me please, ‘I said turning my dimpled charm on, full force; I’ve been told countless times that it could get me whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted it, well now is a good time to try that theory. it was a waste of time because it fell when the lady behind the desk turned towards me. It was none other than Lisa Sullivan a.k.a the Devil Herself.

'Well well, if it isn’t Lisa Sullivan, just the person I’ve been dying to see,’ I said sarcastically through clenched teeth. She looked quite different, I don’t know what it was exactly but she did look more mature—and responsible. I know that I’d have to face her sooner or later but I really would have loved it to be later, thanks to fate such miracles don’t happen to me.

'Dart Tegg, it’s been what…ages I guess, where have you been. It’s so good to see you brother and if I didn’t know you I’d say you were running away from me,’ she replied smiling at me, it really  looked genuine but trust me Lisa was the best actress I’ve ever come across. She was apparently not perturbed by my sarcasm and lack of warmth.

'It’s been 4 years Lisa and I’ve been around. Let me help juggle that perfect memory of yours,’ I said sarcastically--again. 'I am not running away from you. lets see, you suddenly vanished into thin air after breaking up with my brother 4 years ago at our graduation, so its your fault that we haven’t seen each other in ages sister,’ I said angrily between clenched teeth.

'Dart I know there’s always been bad blood…’ she said looking sad and apologetic. Well that stunt was new!

'Trust me Lisa its way more than just bad blood!’ I whisper screamed at her. I can’t believe her, her silly outburst at grad caused my brother his life yet she called what we had between us bad blood—bad blood?

'What the hell are you doing here anyway? Last I heard Bart didn’t cut off your trust fund,’ I said smiling sweetly at her—rather too sweetly.

'As surprising as it may sound, I work here Dart and No he didn’t. He is just too kind,’ she replied calmly. When did she become immune to pain, why wasn’t she falling apart right now? Well I was going to hurt her, I want her to feel all what I felt when I lost Dean.

'Oh it’s good to know that you’ve finally done something with that brain of yours, I was actually thinking of auctioning it off,’ I replied with just enough venom to hurt her yet Her cool façade didn’t drop. Where was the Lisa Tegg I knew and hated? And what the Hell was I doing arguing with Lisa in the first place when all I wanted to so at this moment was take Layla out on our date. Why was I standing here getting angry over something that was obviously past?

'You know what? Can we do this some other time? Am here to GET Layla. Am taking her out on a date.  Do me a favor and ring her office, tell her that am down here. Also give these…’ I stopped when I heard her chuckle. 'What?’ I asked surprised.
