The voices were getting closer. He dived down, and quickly entered the vast lower labyrinth of chambers. There was an escape hatch somewhere down here, though only the king, queen, and their advisors knew where it was. He looked around, and saw eight corridors, all leading to different areas. Three were glowing with a warm, orange light. Two corridors glowed red. And three more were dark. Which one should he choose? On the floor was a engraved symbol, with eight different symbols, each in front of a corridor. The symbols constantly changed, except for one, which was a solid arrow. Really? The floor is pointing to where I should go? Please tell me it is going to be harder then that. He saw the floor glow yellow, and he heard loud voices. "Who is this traitor?" someone asked. "Antasma, really? I expected better." another bat hissed. They were coming. The floor flashed red, and he shot down the corridor with the arrow in front. The glow was following him, and when they arrived at the first intersection it shot around the floor. Walls made of pure white light engulfed the entire intersection. And all the voices he heard from the hunt vanished. He waited, and heard another voice.

"Antasma. You must trust me. You will not escape without my help." He considered what this voice was saying, and agreed. He couldn't get out without help. "Get me out of here." he pleaded. "You trust me? Follow me." The walls of light slid back into the floor, and the glow appeared at his left side, on the floor. The glow drifted down the corridor at an astonishing speed, and he flew as fast as he could, only just keeping up. The glow's movement was very difficult to judge, and as such he only just managed to stop himself from going down wrong corridors, and sometimes almost collided with a wall. But, despite their fast travel he could still hear the hunters. After several minutes of rushing through the underground labyrinth the glow slowed down, and attached itself to a door frame. He heard the mysterious voice again. "In here you will find your salvation." The glow dropped back down to the floor, trailing behind him. The door opened, and he peeked inside.

On a small lectern he saw a small ring. So this was his salvation, huh? What a pathetic thing. And this stupid light can't even lift off the ground. So, do I take it, or do I not? It is my only choice. The glow slithered up the lectern, and infused itself with the ring. Ah, I see now. The ring is the only way the light can follow me. But how to get it on? As if on cue a gash appeared in the ring, and it fell in half. He put his leg around it, and it repaired itself. He suddenly realized he had just lost control of his body. He tried to fly, but he couldn't. But, magically, he took off, and sped down the corridors. He was travelling much faster than he was before. The voices were getting louder, and soon he was in a room, peeking at bats flying down corridors. He waited, but almost immediately got thrown into the air again. His body was being possessed with the glow, and as such he had no control over his flight patterns. The glow flew him down more corridors, occasionally making him hide in a room. After about twenty rooms he discovered he was in the chamber with eight paths again. He flew down what he thought was a random corridor, and quickly found himself at the escape hatch. This light is amazing! He found the hatch instantly! The mysterious voice spoke once more, and he didn't like what he was saying. "I have taken you as far as I can. I shall stay in the ring, but this next part must be done by you." After a few seconds he flew through the hatch, and was in the night.

A/N: Well, so far this has been the most interesting chapter I have written so far, Colony being a close second. This 'glow' character seems pretty mysterious doesn't he? Although, you can trust him. And this chapter is the longest so far! (I think.) If you are enjoying this book so far please let me know, because the more I know that you want me to write this the more I will write.

Well, anyways, see you on the next chapter! -- DarkIlluminatiX
