He closed the hatch behind him, and realized what the glow was telling him to hide from. The Zeekeeper was circling around the tree, completing an orbit every minute. He was about twenty seconds away from discovering him, so he found a small tree and shoved himself into the bark. Once the Zeekeeper had passed he flew further away from the roost. He repeated this three more times, and the glow was starting to take over again. Once it was clear the glow forced him to a different tree. "Antasma, trust me. In this tree there is a secret passageway that leads safely out of this forest. Well, safer than we are now. There are rumors of a guardian in here that will try and stop anyone who tries to pass. It is your choice." the glow whispered. He could feel his body was under his control again, so he alone had the decision. Face an unknown guardian, or face the all-powerful Zeekeeper? Either way, he was in for a beating. He turned, and headed inside the tree.
It was cozy inside the tree, and very spacious. He flew down to the roots, and saw something strange. There was a stick in a slot, he thought he remembered someone calling it a lever. He rammed the lever with all his might, and a mechanical voice warned 'This is a restricted area. Deliver the code, or flee. Choosing to stay will awaken the Dust. You have 10 seconds.' He realized then there was a guardian, and that since he didn't know the code he was going to get pummeled. He thought about how he would survive, and accidentally whispered the word 'wind.' He prepared to fight, and was surprised to hear the mechanical voice greet him. 'You have delivered the code, so you shall have the Wind.' What was the wind? He was wondering how wind could possibly get into the tree, and he was so distracted he was blown off the floor and into a wooden cart. The cart flew into the wall, and he fell down, unable to move. He was knocked out.
He awoke to the sound of wings, and saw a bird hovering above him. It looked very delicious, and he snapped at it. Only to find that the bird vanished. He looked down, and saw a bird on the floor, roasted until it was inedible, and it was resting on a stone disc. He tenderly sniffed it, ready to fly if it smelled poisonous. It smelled delicious. He took a bite of it. It tasted better than anything he had ever had before. Once he had finished the bird he transformed into his humanoid form, grabbed a stick, and hit a tree repeatedly. On the third swing he accidentally let go, and he lost his balance and fell to the ground. And that is when he realized he had lost the ring. The ring that had protected him, and seemed to know what to do about everything, was gone. Forever.
